To use greymatter make sure your domain or the domain your hosted at has CGI BIN.
First download this and unzip it. You will need Winzip for this.
Next you upload all files (except installation.htm and manual.htm) into your cgi-bin or where your install greymatter.
Upload them in ASCII mode, except gm-icon.gif.
CHMOD the following to 755: gm.cgi, gm-karma.cgi, gm-upload.cgi, gm-comments.cgi.
CHMOD all the rest to 666.
Next you make a new folder and call it archives and CHMOD it to 777.
Now log into greymatter. Depending ob if you have a domain or your hosted will depend on the url.
Your url could be one of the following:
http://domain.com/you/gm/gm.cgi
http://domain.com/gm/gm.cgi
http://domain.com/cgi-bin/gm.cgi
http://cgi.domain.com/you/gm.cgi
Once you get to the greymatter login page put Alice for your username and wonderland for your password.
Go to Edit Authors and delete the Alice user and make one for yourself.
Now go back to main and click Configuration. Scroll down to the very bottom
and click on Diagnostics & Repair and then click Perform Diagnostics & Repair.
After the test, if it says everything is OK, go to the rest of the tutorial.
If there's an error message, make sure you did everything correctly.
Now go to Configuration and at the top will be alot of fields, make sure all the urls and paths are correct so greymatter will work.
Now to put your css on the pages go to Edit Templates and edit the big textareas not the smaller ones. You can add the CSS there.
Once your done all that click Add an Entry and make your blog/entry.
