Here's a picture of the two cutest kittens in the world ;) Tiamat [TEE-uh-mut], or Tia for short, is the girl on the left, and Wraith is the boy on the right. They were born June 17, 2000, and I adopted them on my 20th birthday from MEOW in October 2000. They were originally named Salt and Pepper, but agreeing with the shelter that those names were rather cliché, I renamed them.
According to Greek and Babylonian mythology, Tiamat was the dragon who created the world, and Tia is definitely aptly named, as she is extremely feisty and prissy. She loves to have her way, and doesn't mind swatting her older brother around to get it. I've seen her have a face-down with a much larger dog, and the dog blinked first. She likes sitting on top of things (my TV, my shoulder, her brother, my bookshelf), and for some reason loves watching me brush my teeth.
Wraith was named after a character in the "Knight of the Word" series by Terry Brooks. In the series, Wraith was a ghost wolf that was the protector of a girl. When Wraith first came to me, he was pretty slim, but now he's definitely pooched out. He loves lying in laps and butting his nose into your hand if you don't pet him. He is still protective of his little sister, but he lets her push him around. He's extremely easy-going and affectionate, even if he is rather lazy. He loves bags and boxes and can often be found inside of paper grocery bags and underneath boxes. Thus, it is very inexpensive to house him.
