From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee, Across the plains of Texas from sea to shining sea. From Detroit down to Houston and New York to L.A., There's pride in every American heart and it's time we stand and say:

On September 14, 2001 a call went out across the nation to light a candle, walk outside and remember those lost, remember the firefighters and police officers, remember our President and his administration. America did heed that call. There are photos here from a vigil in my own neighborhood and some from across the country!

I have seen tragedies in my lifetime, both personal and in the world; from my father's untimely death, to Vietnam; from assassinations of beloved people to the killing of my nephew. Yet, I have never seen anything that has had such an effect on me as the attack on New York City, Washington DC, and Pittsburgh!

When first hearing the news, I wouldn't or couldn't believe it! So similar to hearing of my father's death, there was unbelief and a feeling that a mistake has been made. Surely someone has gotten their facts mixed up surely they are mistaken! No, there is no mistake. Four planes hijacked, the World Trade Center is gone, the Pentagon attacked and many, many thousands of lives taken!

I first felt fear. I feared what might happen next. I had a strong need and desire to talk to my family and friends and know that they were alive and well. I cried and I prayed.

Since September 11, 2001 no one is apologetic for turning to God. No one is sorry for being "religious". Many who didn't pray, now pray daily. The concerns of the separation of Church and State have been forgotten. It seems now that the combined efforts of Church and State is what is bringing this country together. Now, a moment or two of prayer, silent or aloud, is welcomed.

God is with us. His love surrounds us. We need to hold on to that truth. We need to trust that He hears the prayers and the cries of this Nation, of the World, and is already answering.

The flag of the United States is a symbol of our unity and of our freedom. I am overwhelmed with emotion at the thousands upon thousands of American people who are displaying the flag!

Let's keep it up, America! Keep praying, keep helping, keep supporting, and keep flying the flag! We are bound together as never before. We are truly One in this Nation under God!

A terrible tradgedy took place in New York City on September the 11th, 2001. As regular people on a regualr day awoke to get themselves to work like every other day they had before, They knew not that they would never see their house, wives, husbands, and children ever again. Their lives would never be the same.

The day started off as it usually would. Little did everyone know that at exactly 8:45 AM, their lives would be shattered and haunted forever. At that exact time, a highjacked airliner crashed into the North Tower of The World Trade Center. It was American Airlines passenger jet Flight 11 that left out of Boston that brought many lives to an end. The plane obviously broke through the building starting explosive fires.

Everyone around thought that maybe it was just some sort of accident. Just eighteen minutes after Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower, United Airlines Flight 175 from Boston, crashes into the South Tower ot the World Trade Center. Now both buildings are on fire and it is evident that these were not accidents. Who would have known that these two marvelous bulidings would have been destroyed so quickly??? Who could have put something like this together to where two major airliners would crash into the same buildings??? That comes later in this story. At 9:17am, The Federal Aviation Administration shuts down all New York City area airports.

President Bush at the time, was in Sarasota Florida when he learned of the horrific news. Hw stated that "America has apparently suffered a terrorist attack." Around 9:40am, the FAA suspened ALL air traffic around the U.S. This is the first time that air traffic has ever been suspended in U.S. history. As if we weren't altered enough by what had just happened, another airplane, America Airlines Flight 77, had crashed into The Pentegon. YES!!! A third highjacked airliner has crashed into another major and meaningful building. After this one, the rest of The Pentegon is evacuated and the White House as well. It's 9:57am and Bush has gotten on a private plane and is being escorted out of Florida.

Exactly eight minutes after Bush departs, the South Tower (which was hit second) collapses. Clouds of smoke and debris is flying everywhere as people run for their lives. At 10:10am, another highjacked plane has been reported as being crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. United Airlines Flight 93. Also at this time, a part of The Pentegon has colloapsed. At 10:28am the North Tower of The World Trade Center collapses as well. Bush makes an appearance on television and gives a speech about the attacks that took place that morning and says, "Make no mistake, the United States will hunt down and punish those responsible for these cowardly acts." After 5pm, building 7 collapsed. It's 47 floors came tumbling down to the ground within just a few seconds.

The first estimate has been made for the number of deaths in New York city. An expected 10,000 dead and the number was expected to double, maybe even triple. Among the missing are 78 police officers and 400 firefighters which ran into the building while people were running out. At the last second, it collapsed, which left them trapped. Well here we are two days later and leads are coming by the thousands to the FBI. No one expected so much to be accomplished within the little time that it has. They have confirmed a suspect and that would be the answer to the question in the earlier section to this story. Osama Bin Laden from Afganistan. It has been confirmed that there were atleast 5 Terrorists on each highjacked plane and that they did have weapons such as knives and box cutters, which raised the question of security in our airports. They have identified all 18 terrorists and know that they are linked Osama Bin Laden.

It is aweful with what has happened to this country. We have all lost a great deal of spirit for this country. We have all suffered a tremendous loss whether or not we knew someone that lived there, involved in it, or what not. This effects every human being in this country. My condolences go out to every family who is still missing a loved on or a friend. May God be with them. Thank God people are still being found in the rubble of what is left of The World Trade Centers. You have not lost hope yet. Don't give up!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
