She was in midair, flying toward the teleport column. "NO!" She glanced over her shoulder and saw the soldier firing his weapon at her. She saw him destroyed as the console erupted but not before the energy beam lanced out at her. She watched Cameron step in front of the blast, saving her life. She had watched the blast rip through his torso, picking him up and flinging him after her through the portal. They reappeared in the park by the stream. Lita landed on her feet. Cameron crashed to the ground in a heap. "No!" Lita cried. She reached down and wrapped her arms around the bloodied, crumpled warrior. Behind her she heard the portal short out, blocking any Krell from following but she didn't care. "This can't be happening. He saved me." Lita looked up at her friends, not even trying to hide the tears streaming down her face. Amy leaned down and rolled Cameron onto his back reveling a giant blood spouting wound in the center of his body. She tried to speak but found herself unable. "He.." she sniffed, unable to hold her voice steady, "he's alive but he can't live long." Cameron's eyes flew open and he tried to look around. His eyes settled upon Lita. With forced effort he spoke, "Damn. Wouldn't you know it? Just meet you and I get shot." He smiled weakly. Lita ran a hand down his face and smiled. "Don't worry. You'll be okay." Cameron looked at the blood on her hand, which she quickly tried to hide. His eyes turned back to hers. "I've seen enough people die to know when someone isn't going to make it." Cameron gasped. He got weaker. "No!" Lita cried, "You can't leave me now. Not when I just realized that I..." Lita's voice cracked as she tried to speak the last words. "I love you." She meant it, from the very core of her being, she meant it. Cameron smiled weakly at her. Serena was the only one who seemed shocked at the statement. "Thank you. I love you, too. More then life." He glanced down at his chest. "Just didn't think I'd have to prove it." he laughed lightly, gagging up blood instead of air. Lita sniffed. In a quick motion she leaned down and pressed her lips to his, trying to give him a last vestige of her love. As her lips met his a bright flash of light filled her eyes. She closed them hoping not to see the moment his life slipped away. She intended to hold the kiss until Cameron slipped away. Instead his kiss grew stronger and she could swear that she felt lighter. She heard several surprised gasps from..below her? She opened her eyes and found herself and Cameron floating in the middle of a giant transparent globe of green and black energy. It was an incredible experience. Her energy was flowing out toward the globe alongside long streaks of black energy flowing out of her love. The two energies melded together forming a pool of energy that flew toward the two in bolts of bright energy. Several bolts flew out toward the trees. Finally the energy globe subsided and the two floated to the ground. Lita lifted her lips from Cameron's and found him smiling up at her. Cameron sat up and to everyone's surprise the giant wound in his chest was gone. There was still a gaping hole in his suit but under it was normal, albeit white, flesh. "Not bad but we could do better." * * * * * Cameron sat looking at the beautiful woman in front of him. She was smiling and quickly burst into tears, laughing. "You're all right." she screamed, throwing her arms around him. "Whoa. Hey." He put his arms around her too. "I'm okay. I don't really know how but I am." "Does everyone have it better then us?" Darien said, exasperated. "First Raye and Jason. Now those two. All we get is a bright flash of light." Jason, Raye, and Lita all laughed. Amy and Mina just watched and Cameron looked around confused. "What are you talking about?" he asked, "and please explain that light show." Lita smiled, her eyes filled with joy and pouring out tears of joy. "That light show is a very special thing. It only happens when two people from the.." she looked at the others and they shook their heads, some with wide smiles, "from a special place are meant to be together." Cameron's smile spread, "I like the sound of that." He reached up taking her head in his hands and kissed her. The two began to glow again and the energy shot out forming an orb that lifted the two from the ground. Cameron kissed her long and hard before slowly releasing her. They slowly floated back to the ground landing softly on their feet. "I could really like this." "Like you don't already." Lita teased. Cameron's face hardened "No I don't like it already." When Lita's face grew a little sad Cameron broke into a wide smile again, "I love it already." He wrapped his arms around her. "Come on. Lets go home." The scouts all smiled. * * * * * Cameron threw open the door and walked into the giant apartment with Lita. He was happy. Happier then he had been in a long time. He had the woman he found he loved, and seemed destined for, with him and she loved him just as much. What wasn't there to be happy about. As the two entered the spacious quarters Cameron grabbed Lita by the waist and threw her up into the air. As she plummeted he reached up and caught her, spinning her around, and pulling her to him. "I just love this." he cried in joy. "And I love you." Lita smashed her lips to his and slowly kissed him. They were encased in the orb of energy for a period until both felt the need to breath. "Do you two want to be alone?" Jason and Raye walked into the complex, arms wrapped around one another. The two new lovers smiled at each other. "Maybe later. Now, get in here. All of you, we need to celebrate." All the scouts followed Jason and Raye He walked over to a small, locked cabinet built behind a desk in the corner. From it he pulled a large bottle of a yellow liquid. "What is that?" Mina asked a bit warily, "Wine?" "No. I hate alcohol." Jason turned the label toward her, "It's a sort of apple cinnamon drink. More refreshing then alcohol with none of the after effects. Who wants some?" No one turned down the offer. Jason grabbed a tray of glasses from the cupboard and Cameron poured each to the brim. Each took a glass and was about to drink it when Amy spoke up, "Shouldn't we be toasting?" "I guess so." Cameron smiled. "How about to friends lost and found?" "And to love found." Lita added, looking at him with loving eyes. Darien wrapped an arm tightly around Serena and Jason slowly kissed his lovely Raye. Amy and Mina looked at each other, a little disappointed but both agreed to the toast. "To friends and love." they all called. As one they lifted their glasses and drank from them. When the drinks were finished the glasses were returned to their tray and the group gathered in the available seats. "This has been, by far, the best day of my life." Cameron commented. "Big wonder why?" Raye smiled at him and Raye. "Not just Lita." Lita, who had been laying against him, looked up at him in surprise and a little disappointment. Cameron kissed her on the forehead. "Though she is the most important reason." "What else?" Jason asked, and he thought "Like we don't already know." "I got to know you all better, I got to see and fight along side you, and we pretty much saved Earth from those Krell." "But we all almost died." Serena pointed out. "True, but we're all still here. I think that's all that matters now." "I guess you're right." Serena conceded, squeezing Darien's hand lovingly. "Speaking of dying," Amy questioned, "I don't understand what happened to you earlier." "What do you mean?" Cameron asked in confusion. "I mean that you were a hair's breadth from dying." "Yes, and the question is?" "Lita said that you were shot with a laser." "Can I ask when you think you'll be getting to the point?" Lita giggled a little and Jason smirked but no one else responded to the mild joke. "I thought you could manipulate energy, so why didn't you just stop the thing?" "I told you I can manipulate RAW energy. Lasers and most weapons like them are a highly concentrated form of energy. It takes time to overcome such a powerful force and I usually don't have it." "Ah." "Why? Did you think I was invulnerable to energy attacks?" "It would have been nice." Raye commented. "It would, but it isn't so I suggest not thinking about it." They all did. The group sat talking about the day and each other for a time. Cameron finally popped a question that had been filling his mind since meeting his new friends, "How did you guys get your powers? What did you do with them?" The five female scouts and Darien told Cameron of their battles with the powers of the Negaverse. The told him of their final fight with Queen Beryl. "You created a ball of energy the size of the moon to destroy her?!" Cameron asked in shock. "You bet." the girls said, beaming with pride. "I would have liked to have seen that." "You would." Jason muttered. The girls then told of their meeting with Rene and the conflict with the Negamoon forces. Wise man, the Four Sisters, Rubeus were all mentioned. The talked of the outer senshi and their final battle with Sailor Galaxia, including their temporary deaths. "You all died?" Cameron asked with extreme remorse. "Yes." Raye commented, a slight shiver running through her body. Jason hugged her tighter to ease her. "But only for a little while." Cameron turned to Lita with regret filling his eyes, "I'm sorry I couldn't be there to have saved you from that." "That's all right." Lita smiled at him, trying to comfort his guilt. "I don't think you'd be able to save us, either. Galaxia was powered by chaos. In the end only Galaxia had the power to defeat herself with Serena's help." Cameron sat silently staring at her. "Isn't there something you want to ask?" "You mean, what was it like to be dead?" Cameron kissed her on the forehead, "I hope I can't be considered that inconsiderate. I wouldn't want anyone to be able to know what death is like, and worse, remember it. I don't want any of you to have to recall it." Lita squeezed him tightly in thanks. "You are very sweet." "Really?" Cameron asked in mock disbelief, "That must be why those kids were chasing me, trying to lick me. I thought it was some strange medical thing." Lita giggled, Jason chortled, and the rest laughed at him. Cameron smiled widely and glanced at the window. "Whoa. Time to go." Everyone turned to him in confusion. "Why?" Darien inquired. "It's almost sunset," he took Lita's hand, "and I want to take this lovely lady out to finish our little romp through the park. Hopefully, without interruption." * * * * * Lita walked along the open path smiling, Cameron's hand in her's. The sun was falling on the horizon and would vanish sometime in the next twenty minutes. Until then they had ample light to see the surrounding land clearly and see each other with ease. As they turned a corner on the large, twisting trail they came upon the creek which they had both cooled their feet in earlier. Their conversation at the time had been disrupted but they hoped their current one didn't suffer a similar fate. Still, they both glanced around cautiously was they entered the glade. They were alone, except for a few other couples and families. "We shouldn't be this nervous." Cameron commented, trying to clear the mood. "No. We shouldn't." Lita squeezed his hand and they forgot both the earlier incident and their nervousness. "This is beautiful." Lita waved her hand around, indicating their view of park. "True. But not as beautiful as you." Cameron placed a finger under her chin lifting it to better view her face. "Not by far." Lita smiled lovingly, at him, "Flatterer." "Aren't I always and you know you love it." "Not as much as I love you." Lita kissed him passionately. She wanted it to last but they couldn't risk people seeing their light show. A sudden flash of light made them both jump in surprise. She quickly pulled away, leaving a lingering salty taste on her lips. The two turned and found a young man standing there smiling at them. In one had, he held a happy girl of his age and in the other he held a small Polaroid camera. "I saw you and thought you might like a keepsake." the young man told them cheerfully. The girl grabbed the picture as the camera ejected it and handed it to Lita. "Thank you." Cameron looked down at the small picture and then began to fish out fish wallet. The young man lifted his hand, stopping Cameron. "Don't. Just consider it a gift from one couple to another." The two smiled and left, the woman leaned close to Lita and whispered, "He's a good catch. Don't lose him." Lita watched the happy couple depart then looked at the picture. It showed her and Cameron kissing passionately, arms wrapped around one another with the sun raised just above their heads. Wrapped closely around their bodies floated a faint, almost indistinct, fog of white, green, and black. It was a remarkably good picture with both portrayed in full color with a still blue, slightly reddening, sky behind them. Perfect detail. "He's good." "He certainly is. Here." Lita held the picture out to him but he declined. Lita tucked the picture into her back pocket, took his hand, and they continued their walk. * * * * * The sun began to slip beneath the horizon, casting brilliant reds and purples across the layers of clouds. Rays of light hung in the sky creating a striking spectacle. The only thing marring the scene was the rows of buildings jutting up. Lita and Cameron sat on a small grassy rise in the park. "I wish those buildings weren't in the way." Cameron whispered in her ear "As you wish. Dark Prism Power." His crystal turned to a liquid and flowed over his body. It suddenly solidified into his black jumpsuit with white skin and black crystal imbedded in his forehead. "Are you crazy?" Lita cried in shock. "People could see you." "Come on. Look around." He waved his hands around at the empty knoll. "We're alone up here but I know where we can be even more alone." A black disk appeared before the pair. "After you." Lita looked at it, "Where does it go?" "You'll see." Cameron stood up taking Lita's hand and helping her up. After a quick peck on the chick the pair stepped through the wormhole which vanished behind them. Lita stepped through the portal and found herself, with Cameron, standing on a bluff overlooking the Sea of Japan. Below them, waves lapped at the sands of a small strip of beach. On the horizon, sinking into the sea was a most incredible sunset. One sun falling into the water, lighting the clouds with brilliant rays. Below that was a second sun slowly rising on the waves, splashing golds and reds on the rocks and water. Lita turned to Cameron and found him de-transformed back into his jeans and loose knit sweater over a T-shirt. "Like the view?" "It's wonderful." she whispered, a far away awe filled look in her eyes. The two sat on the bluff and watched as the sun slowly sank into the sea. "There is goes." Cameron whispered in Lita's ear as the last tip of sunlight slipped beneath the horizon. The rays of the sun, though, did not vanish with the majestic orb but hung above the clouds casting brilliant colors across the land. But these to faded into the darkness of night, leaving the full moon to light the sea. "Come on." Cameron stood up and offered a hand to his destined love. She took it and with a quick tug lifted herself up into his arms. "Where are we going?" "For a walk on the beach. Something I've wanted to do for a long time." The two looked around for several minutes before finding a path, more a less steep section of bluff, down to the beach. Lita slipped once on the climb down but Cameron caught her with ease. "My hero." "My catch of day." he smiled and kissed her again. He set her down and the they began their walk. Cameron took his shoes off and tied them to his belt so he could walk with his feet in the water. Lita preferred the sand. "You've never told me about yourself." "I haven't, have I?" Lita sighed and began recounting her history beginning with the deaths of her parents in an airplane crash. "After they died I've had to take care of myself." "That must be pretty rough. I at least had someone who adopted me." "It was very hard but I manage." Cameron noticed her shiver. "You cold?" Lita shrugged "A little." "Not very surprising." Looking down at her choice of clothes Lita had to agree with him. She had chosen an orangish T-shirt cut off at the midriff and a pair of pink jeans. Amazingly the outfit looked spectacular on her while it would look just odd on most other people. Cameron pulled off the sweater and tossed it to her. "Try it on. I've kept it warm for you." Lita slipped the sweater on over her clothes and was delighted when the cold subsided from her. "Thanks." "No prob." Lita watched him as they continued their walk. His long hair continually blew into his face but it never covered up enough that she couldn't get a clear look. She loved looking at his face. It was slightly tanned from a Caucasian white with a hard taut appearance over his bones but it seemed somehow soft and inviting. He noticed her smiling at him and flashed her his quick, one- sided grin. Lita thought it made him look kind of boyish but it never portrayed anything but kindness. Lita's favorite feature, though, were his eyes. They were close set and incredibly deep. The iris's were a deep sea blue and Lita loved to fall into them. "Having fun?" Cameron asked, turning from his view of the ocean. "Lots but I am starting to get hungry." Lita confessed. "Me too." He stepped out of the water and wrapped his arm around her. "You want to go to a restaurant?" "No. I think I'll cook." Cameron smiled widely "Cool. I've heard a few stories about your cooking and was hoping you might offer sometime." "All you needed to do was ask." Lita asked. She was delighted that he wanted her to cook. "I didn't want to press you." Lita gave him a big hug which required him to gasp for air afterwards. "That was very considerate." Cameron lifted Lita off the sands and passionately embraced her, kissing her. The green and black orb formed hoisting the two off the beach and carrying them high into the air. Only one thought passed through both their minds throughout the embrace, "I love you." ______________________________________________________________________ I just had to add a chapter of entire romance. I actually didn't plan it, it just came out this way. I do think that it is a wonderful addition, don't you? If you want to find out more about this relationship then read on. I thank Lady Jupiter for her kind words on this story and I hope that others will offer me their criticism.
