THE FUGITIVE SEASON
TWO

Season two began right where season one left off. Agent Gagamiros took a shot at Richard Kimble and tried to kill him. Richard very quickly moved and was only grazed by the bullet. Agent Gagamiros tried to shoot Kimble again and then spoke to Charnquist. Charnquist claimed he didn’t know Gagamiros but he certainly knew Ben and he told Ben he was coming with him. Ben refused and he got the gun away from Gagamiros and shot him. He said, “All my debts are paid!” Running out of the warehouse, Kimble saw that Gerard had been shot. He grabbed Gerard’s cell phone and dialed 911 and told them Gerard had been shot and to send an ambulance to the address.
Charnquist came out and demanded the antidote, but Kimble ran away from him and got out of Chicago as fast as he could.
It turned out that Charnquist was not slowly being poisoned after all. Kimble simply injected him with a nerve inhibitor that slowly worked its way through Ben’s body. Once it ran its course, Ben Charnquist woke up in an alley with the worst hangover of his life. However, Kimble felt a little bit of remorse about it. He had never used his medical knowledge before to hurt anyone and it bothered him quite a bit.
Kimble called Gerard, expecting some thanks for calling 911. Gerard is still not impressed and still believes that Kimble is guilty. Things are not going well for Gerard on the home front either. His wife Sara and daughter Alex want him to quit the task force, forget Kimble and go back to working homicides. He refuses and Sara and Alex move out of the house!
Kimble got information from Chuck Brixius that some people in the hospital saw Charnquist and Kimble together. He called the task force and gave the information to Eve Hilliard, hoping she will investigate and find out Charnquist is alive and well. and told her the information. Eve seems willing to investigate the matter on her own.
Things keep getting worse for Ben Charnquist as he’s now fallen out of favor with his boss, Mr. Palazzolo. He went to see him and nearly got killed.
Kimble eventually found a lead to an Amish community in Pennsylvania and it was there that he found a link between diamonds and Matthew Ross, his late wife’s father. He called Matthew Ross and told him about the diamonds. He told him that he held him responsible for the death of Helen and he hung up. It was at this point that we saw that Matthew Ross realized that his business dealings may have cost him one daughter’s life and alienated himself from his one remaining daughter. We saw him break down into tears.
Eve Hilliard uncovered that Agent Gagamiros once worked for Matthew Ross and as they were going to dig deeper into the investigation, they were told by the commissioner that this was an FBI Internal Affairs concern. In spite of the fact that Gagamiros tried to kill Gerard, they were told to back off of the investigation.
Kimble did meet up once again with his friend Chuck Brixius in South Carolina but unfortunately it was in a hurricane so they had to go to a shelter. Chuck was able to tell him though that there was a new website. Unfortunately, their meeting was brief because the police recognized him and he had to flee in a hurricane.
Gerard is also convinced that the reason so many people like Richard Kimble and the reason he helps people is because he feels guilty over what he did and he thinks this makes up for killing his wife. Gerard also believes that there is no such person as Smith282 and that the One Armed Man is a figment of Richard’s imagination. Based on psychiatric reports from a doctor who spoke to Kimble in a psychiatric ward when he was arrested with other homeless people, Gerard concludes Kimble is mentally disturbed. Eve Hilliard however, believes that there may be some credence to Kimble’s story.
Kimble was drawn to Milwaukee when by chance, he noticed a picture in a medical journal and in the background behind the doctor was a janitor who looked like Smith282. He immediately headed to the hospital in Milwaukee. Someone recognized Kimble and called the task force, telling them Kimble was trying to get information on a janitor at the hospital. Eve Hilliard, newly informed about Smith282, went to the hospital hoping find the janitor and a lead on Kimble. She found the janitor, but when she introduced herself as FBI, he knocked her down and fled. He and Kimble ran into each other but because Eve Hilliard was seconds behind them, they both ran off in different directions and Smith282, the one witness who saw Ben Charnquist kill Helen, was once again lost to Kimble.
Eve Hilliard found out the man’s name was Bill Walsh and discovered his email address was Smith282. Eddie and Vic told her that Gerard believed Smith282 was really Kimble, suffering from schizophrenia and sending Becca Ross messages telling her that he saw Ben Charnquist kill her sister Helen. Eve was shocked that nobody ever followed up on this and that Gerard was so quick to dismiss Smith282 as a ruse by Kimble.
Hoping to learn more, Eve went to visit Becca Ross in prison, where she was serving the maximum of three years in prison for aiding and abetting Richard. Eve explained to Becca that she believes that Ben Charnquist does exist. Reluctant at first, Becca finally cooperates and explains to Eve that kidnapping was the original motive, not murder and that it was she who was the intended target not Helen. She told her that Smith282 said he saw the whole thing and that he’d testify if they could get Charnquist arrested. She then told Eve that they got Charnquist arrested but then he was let go with no record of arrest. Eve told Becca that Smith282’s real name is Bill Walsh...
