I've decided that It's only fair to allow Vampire Diary vamps as well as the Nightworld Made and Lamia. So here is a little run down of each of the three.
2/16/09As per our discussion over email I have also decided to add the Twilight characters. Some things need to be worked on to make this smooth, but when you think about it this series isn't far from the principles of NW. It's kinda obvious that Edward and Bella are soulmates, and the rest of them and you still have to keep the secret.
VD- These vampires are from a different series that I am not nearly as familiar with as the night world books, so if I've left anything out let me know. To become a VD you must be bitten. You stop ageing instantly, they can not have children, they are usually solitary or travel in pairs. VDs MUST WEAR LAPIS LAZULI, if they do not and are hit by sunlight they turn to dust. To enter a human residence they must be invited in. They can sustain off of non human blood but they have more power from human blood and can shape shift into 1-2 preferably nocturnal animals.
Lamia- These vamps are commonly referred to as the "Family Vamps". They are all decendents of Maya, if you would like to know more about her check under witches. They age normally until a time they decide to stop, and they are able to have children. They live in family groups and are usually Patriachal. Most drink only human blood, on enclaves from slaves or hypnotized humans, off of them from multiple willing donors (we'll call them shadows), or from multiple unknowing victims (use a little mind erasing) killing is frowned upon, as it draws attention.
Made- These NW vamps are changed humans. They MUST be under 20 to survive the change and even then it isn't a guarantee. They must go through around 3 blood trades. They must take as much as they give of each others blood, and the human will slowly gain vamp powers and then on the last time they will die and wake up. They can't have children and are supposed to be approved to be changed, but L.J. lets it happen whenever so heck so will we :). They don't have a defined lifestyle, so whatever goes, loner, with other Mades or lamia.
Twilight- You must be bitten to become a T vamp. You stop ageing and can't have children. During this transformation you suffer in pain for 3 days or so before you change, not preferable but you can be changed at any age not just under 20. These vampires do no utilize blood for oxygen use, but for nourishment so they can go indeffinatly but as in the books it isn't a happy time. Wood isn't dangerous to them but they are equally as strong as the other vamps. And due to the sparkle factor they are happy to be in the PC's which diffuse sunlight. They are not telepathic but they do not loose strength in sunlight. Any issues with fitting them in let me know.
So who is more powerful? When ever I've seen these species mixed it's been a hassle and I think they should be equal so this is what I've come up with. They are all just as powerful at night, and more human blood makes them all more powerful. Sunlight NWs are still more powerful then humans but only a little, while VDs are only as strong as humans. To even it out VD vamps have the ability to shapeshift.
Vamps should drink blood about once a day other then Tvamps, it is neccisary for them to use oxygen for metabolism. Just to keep things on track. If you want to harm any of these vampires you must use Wood or fire.
