Chapter 15: Super-Short Chapter
James walked grudgingly up to his dormitory. He was tired, but not tired enough to stop thinking….about Lily. Lily Amiel Evans was everything he wanted, everything he understood, and everything he…loved. He walked to his bed, and replayed Lily’s words in his mind. “I want our anniversary on Christmas, though. Wouldn’t that be the best present ever?” James mentally agreed that yes, it definitely would. James suddenly got out of bed and walked over to his trunk. How much money did he have? 70 Galleons…wow…he knew exactly what to do with it.

Lily approached her dorm room door, and she heard voices inside. Emia and Avia were waiting up for her, how sweet of them. Okay, so they would have waited up anyway to see how Lily’s date went, but it was still nice.
“Hey guys,” said an exhausted Lily.
“Water. Pajamas. Then spill,” Emia ordered quickly.
“Okay,” said Lily, glad she didn’t have to think for herself…she didn’t feel she had the energy to right then.
Avia poured Lily a glass of water while Lily changed into her pajamas. Lily set the water on her bedside table, and sat upright on her bed. The twins quickly joined her, eagerly awaiting the details of the date with James.
“Sooo…” said Avia, prodding Lily, “how did it go?”
“It…was…wonderful,” said Lily, with an airy tone.
“Wow,” smiled Emia. “Okay, now that we have that established, I want the details!”
“Well…” Lily began, “it started with James being a bit late, but he was very apologetic and sincere about it. Sirius stole his shoe, there’s only so much you can do.
Then he took me to Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom where we put on the…um…Okay…do you guys promise not to tell…about something?”
“What?” asked Avia, slightly annoyed at the interruption of their story.
“James….has…an invisibility cloak.”
“I know,” said Avia, annoyed.
“Didn’t you know that, Lily?” asked Emia.
“Wow…I didn’t know so many people knew.”
“Well, when you prank people like he does, it’s obvious that he has to have a cloak. There’s no other easy escape. Besides, his family’s rich, it’s not that hard to get one for him,” said Avia, matter-of-factly.
“Oh,” replied Lily.
“Now, continue with your story.”
“Alright, um…we put on the invisibility cloak in Myrtle’s bathroom, and he took me to this statue of a one-eyed witch. He said this Latin word, and it took us down an underground passage. After like 40 minutes of talking and stuff, we wound up in Honeydukes. Well, that’s where the passage led, I mean. And he told me to grab anything I wanted, and paid for everything. We bought like some of EVERYTHING but the stuff in that ‘Unusual Tastes’ section. Then he took me to the Three Broomsticks for a butterbeer. We ran into Hagrid, but Hagrid promised not to tell on us. He said we were wonderful together, and things like that. It was a bit awkward, but still really sweet. Then we went back to Honeydukes, down the passage and here to the common room. We sat eating sweets and talking for awhile, it was really awesome. Oh, that reminds me, here are the sweets we got. He insisted I bring them up here and share them with you two. James said there were more presents where that came from…”
Emia, the twin that loved eating, naturally eagerly started eating some sweets. Avia smiled, and started eating too.
“What sort of things did you talk about, Lil?” asked a curious Emie.
“What DIDN’T we talk about is the question…well let’s see. He talked to me about Moaning Myrtle, this map of his father’s, rule-breaking, his family, Petunia, Muggles, sweets, Professor Binns, Hagrid….and…”
“Yes, what is it?” prodded Emie.
“Um…we talked about how we’re a couple.”
“Oh my god!!! Yay!!! That’s so-”
“-AMAZING!!” Emia interrupted her twin, “I’m so happy for you Lil!”
“Yeah, I told him I did want to be part of a couple, and he does too, but I told him I want to take it slow, and that I want to have an anniversary on Christmas.”
“Wow,” the twins said in unison.
“That’s incredible… he’s so perfect. He even knows that giving sweets to a girl’s best friends will be the key to their heart. I wholeheartedly approve, Lil,” said Avia.
Emia nodded with a smile, she couldn’t talk very well in between bites.
“That’s all there really is to say about the date…I guess we’ll find out what happens on the 25th,” Lily smiled.
“Yeah…we can’t wait!” the twins said.
The girls all went to bed, exhausted from their VERY long day.
Then, Lily started singing. (She sang whenever she was in a good mood…and it just seemed like a good time.)

A man selling ice cream

Then the twins joined in for the chorus, and all three sang-
“Can you dig it (Yes, I can)
And I’ve been waiting such a long time
For SATURDAY!!!!..”
Lily smiled, “This is going to be an interesting month, I expect.”
“Totally, Lil,” said Emia. “Good night!”
“Night girls!”

Okay…I know this is a REALLY short chapter. But I will make the next one really long, I just needed to group the plot events so it would
make sense to me, my sincerest apologies to any readers that were expecting a
long chapter!! And the song Lil and the twins were singing was a bit of one of
my fave songs,
