Where we Belong
Caught up and trapped
Each in our own separate world.
Unable to break free,
from the chains that they hold.
Maybe we can escape with fewer injuries inside,
If we attempt to make-believe Instead of living to hide...
Living to hide from all the hatred And racism
Creeping up in the minds of the demented
Oh baby this pain is eternally hard to accept.
Something I know,
I'll never truthfully forget
Time is not on our side
But that doesn't suggest,
That in each other we still can't confide
Everyone is waiting for the day
We give in to all the pressures
And travel our separate way
Standing by ready With an "I knew it,"
And a knowing laugh  They'll send us back
To where they are certain we "belong"
(Although the only place is in each other's arms)
  Black/White Day and Night
Yes they are considered different However,
together they can still be right.
