Man is not a logical being. Only what surrounds him is intelligent. [3] Heraclitus of Ephesos (148)

Nature as the product of humanity

The transformation of reality which accompanied modernism, is nowadays redefined as the reconstruction of reality. This change, first observed by Nietzsche, came about at the end of the 19th century, as an attempt at expanding the bounds of human physiology. Nietzsche proposed the notion of the Superman, a new image which came about from the conception of the will for power. The technological development that followed was the accomplishment of humanity that established domination over the environment. At the biotechnological age, all questions about nature have to be reconsidered. The transmission of information - the dominating factor of post-industrialization, now takes place inside the body instead of being its expansion. This occurs through genetic manipulation of the body, a process which is achieved through the lab and appears to threaten the uniqueness of the body. The concept that the body is unique has already been discarded by the evolution theory, yet current discussion evolves predominantly around the issue of life itself becoming the object of designing.
