| That 70s Show presents: That 70s Jammin Album |
| My friend Kelly and I were listening to the "Jammin' album" and I decided that it would be a good idea to review the CD (even though it sounds a little crappy now)..so here's the review... 1) K.C. and the Sunshine Band- Get Down Tonight: One of the songs on the album that almost everyone has heard once in their life. It's a pretty danceable song...easy to along to, but it does get annoying after awhile. I'll give it a 7 out of 10. 2) Rufus-Tell Me Something Good: This is one of those songs that you can sing karoke to. Frankly, I only know the chorus, but its still a good..song. I'll give it a 7 out of 10. 3) James Brown-Hot Pant (Part 1): Oh god...this shouldn't even be considered as a song. The whole song is James Brown going "Hey!...Hey! Hot Pants!...Hey!...Smokin' now!...Hey!". But..the beat is catchy as hell, so...points for that. I'll give it a...4 out of 10. 4)Parliament-Tear the Roof of the Sucker (Give Up the Funk): Really nice beat to it, but it gets boring about...1 minute into the song...lol. I'll give it a 6 out of 10. 5) Ohio Players- Fire: The fire alarms going off in the beginning of the song is sorta tacky, but it has a great use of trumpets, and different instruments....and it's probably one of my favorite songs on the album... I'll give it a 9 out of 10. 6) Kool and the Gang- Jungle Boogie: One of my favorite songs off the album. It's pretty simple..all of the words are "Jungle Boogie....Jungle Boogie....Jungle Boogie.." and so on (except for that really creepy guy in the background with the really deep voice. I'm afraid of him...). I'll give it a 8 out of 10. 7) Wild Cherry- Play That Funky Music: The lyrics for this song are pretty stupid, but the music is awesome...esapasailly the eletric guitar riff halfway through the song. That's really cool. I'll give it a 7 out of 10. 8) The Isley Brothers- Fight the Power: This is a good song. That's all I can really say about it...I mean, you can't really sing along to it or anything 'cause the guy is singing why to fast for me..so..yeah. I'll give it a 6 out of 10. 9)Brick-Dazz: I don't really like this song. I can understand why it was popular back in the 70s..because it was pretty high-tech for back then. I'll give it a 4 out of 10 (cause I'm nice.) 10) Average White Band- Pick Up the Pieces: First of all, I love the name of the band. Fits very well for a Scottish band singing R&B music. Anyways, it's got a really good beat to it I've heard this song everywhere ever since I was young, so it gets sorta annoynig. I'll give it a 5 out of 10. 11)The Staples Sisters-Respect Yourself: It's not reallt THAT good of a song to me, but it's okay. It's also really laid-back. I'll give it a 5 out of 10. 12) The Hues Corporation-Rock The Boat: This is most likely the most chessy song on the whole album, if not in the 1970s period. And on top of that, if you listen to it once, it gets stuck in your head the whole freakin' day. I've even hd a dream about it. I'll give it a 3 out of 10. 13) The Three Degrees-When Will I See You Again: It's sorta long and every..boring. I always skip it. I'll give it a 3 out of 10. 14) Tower of Power-So Very Hard To Go: Sad and boring. I give it a 1 out of 10 (wow, that was quick). 15) The Spinners-The Rubberband Man: I have no idea why, but whenever I hear this song, I start cracking up. I don't know why, but it gets points for making me laugh. So, I haven't actually listened to the whole song...lol. Me likely laugh. I'll give it a 2 out of 10 |
