The closest I can get to a meaning is something to do with 'stays in one place for a long time' or something to that meaning. The kanji for Na implies 'a place' the kanji for Ku is used in words relating to a 'long time or eternity' and Ru's kanji is part of many words with meanings of 'suspension, waiting, being trapped in one place etc'. In relation to Nakuru's character, this could be to do with the fact that Nakuru was created to stay by Eriol's side for the extent of his life.
