Fresco painting

I studied fresco painting and its restoration in summer, 1999, at Rome. These are works I made at that time.( work 1 . & 2) And now I came to Rome again to continue it. (2002). When I saw the TV program of restoration, I was eager to do it myself. In fact, I have to wait 2 years to realize it.
After backed to Tokyo, I wanted to paint fresco painting, and looked for materials. First, lime called "calce" in italy, was liquid but that on the market in Japan was powder and fibrous. I sifted it and added water. Second was mud, called "possolana". It was hard to find just mud in Tokyo. I got the mud by the campany I was working by chance. It was usually used for recycle, for example, block of footpath. I blended this mud and lime. (At Rome, the balance of lime : mud was 1:6 for under stratum, and 1:3 for upper part, although I made suitably without measure. )
Depends of the balance, it was broken after dried, when I used the wood board for base, warped after... After these many trials and errors, I made some fresco paintings.
