Notes for Kaete KATZENBERGER

General Note
Kaete was born in Köln.The Katzenbergers lived in Spichernstrasse.

About 1912 , they moved to Nurenberg.They first lived at Bucherstrasse 19, and a few years later moved to the villa in Praterstrasse 23.

Kaete went to school at the "Höhere Töchter Schule - Laben Wolf" , and later attended the "Maedchen Real Gymnasium" (Findelgasse).

When Kaete was 12 , she joined the "Blau-Weiss" Zionist youth-movement , in which - after several years- she also became a group-leader. There she also met her future husband , Bernhard Freimann.

Before her marriage,she went to Frankfurt to attend the "Jüdische Haushaltungsschule" for one year. In 1928, Kaete and Bernhard got married in Nurnberg.

In 1934 , Kaete and her husband with two kids immigrated to Palestine, and settled in Jerusalem.

In June 1938 , Kaete and Bernhard made a trip to Germany , together with Yehuda and Channan. They visited the Freimanns and the Katzenbergers in Nurenberg for the last time.

Marriage Note
The wedding was held at the villa in Praterstrasse and the Rabbi was Dr.Arnold Klein (Rabbiner des orthodoxen Vereins Adas Israel ).

A celebration for friends and relatives was also held at the Grand Hotel.

Immigration Note
In 1933 Kaete and Bernhard made their first trip to Palestine , and a year later they immigrated.

Alfasi St. 33 , Rechavia , Jerusalem until November 1993, then she moved to : "Hod Yerushalayim" , Guatemala 3 , Jerusalem.
