Pictures page 2
What kind of sailing site would this be without a picture of a pretty woman in a bikini?  Looks like Nicole is ready for the beach in this picture.
To the right you can see myself, Justin, my oldest son, and Travis, my 2nd oldest son.  Justin is a graduate of NIU and Travis is attending SIU majoring in civil engineering. I think we're just glad the mast is finally raised!!
Here Nicole is performing our annual " Dance of the Launch"  This is a very secret dance ritual performed prior to the launch of "Mein Honig" and is the only known photograph in excistence.  The origins of this ritual dance date back many years and are known to ward off evil power lines, boats, and unsafe docks.
Motoring down the Illinios river.   As you can tell the birds are sure excited we are there.
Below is my favorite picture of mein honig on "Mein Honig"
Control panel I built from scratch when re-wiring the boat.  We now have all items on seperate switches and fuses.  Also included is charging amp meter, d.c. ampmeter, a.c. volts, poliarity sensor, uhf, cd stereo, and switching to convert from shore power to inverter for 120vac.
To the left is how she looked our first year.  The original name was "Shangri La".  The original tan stripe seems common on many of the A23's I have seen pictures of.  The A23 is a very stable boat for her size.  With 960 lbs of lead in a fixed keel and 165 lb. centerboard, she is self righting in the case of a knock-down.  With a roomy cabin it's the perfect trailer sailboat for a small family cruising in protected waters.
