SIMON, Thain A. - Passed away peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at the age of 85 years.

Thain Simon of Pembroke, beloved husband of the late Erla Simon (nee Giesebrecht). Dearly loved by his 5 daughters Heather Richards (husband Tom), Oakville; Jill Coombes (husband George), Brockville; Joan McLaughlin, Ottawa; Cathy Meilleur (late husband Rollie), Chapeau; and Kelly Simon (Allan Campbell), Pembroke. He will be sadly missed by his 8 grandchildren Jud Richards (Rachel); Adam Richards (Erica); Scott, Ben & Lindsay Coombes; Jenny & Luke McLaughlin; and Kaitlin Campbell. Also sadly missed by his great-granddaughter Lilly Butler McLaughlin. Predeceased by his parents Wilbert (Bill) and Mary Simon (nee Haskin), sister Eleanor Simon and brothers Doug, Cully and Don Simon. Survived by his brother-in-law Bruce Giesebrecht, Pembroke and his many nieces & nephews.

Respecting Thain's wishes there will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at the family plot in Calvin/Presbyterian Cemetery, Pembroke. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Thain's Life to be held at the home of Kelly Simon and Allan Campbell, 275 Broadview Drive, Pembroke on Saturday, September 22 at 1:00 p.m.
