After a short illness, Eliane
Soulodre, aged 89 years, died peacefully on May 18, 2011. Eliane was
predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Luc Soulodre and her daughter
Rose-Marie Anderson ; her parents, Edouardine and Napoléon Verreault ;
her brothers : Léopold, Gérald, Florent and her sisters : Isabelle
(Doric) Allard, Antonie (Andy) Decock and Reine-Marguerite (Clifford)
Littlefield.
She leaves to mourn her beloved children : Claire MacKenzie, Marc (Gail
Mireau), Yvonne Hardy, Paulette (Neil) Carrette, Louis, Lynne (Garnet)
Meilleur and Estelle ; her grandchildren: Grant Anderson, David
Beattie, Deborah and Robert MacKenzie, Nicole (Chris) Johannesson,
Crystal, Joseph (Skye), and Lorraine Carrette, Denise and Nadine
Meilleur; as well as her two great-granddaughters, Elianna and Annika
Johannesson. She is also survived by her brother Alphé (Phyllis)
Verreault ; her sisters-in-law : Doris Verreault, Irene and Rita
Soulodre and Anne (Claude) Parenteau ; her brother-in-law Michel
(Alice) Soulodre and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Eliane was born in St. Norbert on November 25, 1921. She was happiest
when surrounded by her family and was known for her sewing skills,
cooking, sense of humour and gentle nature.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at 10:30 a.m. at St.
Boniface Cathedrale, 190 rue de la Cathedrale. A private family
interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a
donation can be sent to the Canadian Red Cross Society.
