LEOPOLD GERVAIS

On October 12, 2000 at the Pine Falls Health Complex, Leo, beloved husband of Delina ( nee Lavoie) of 58 years, passed away at the age of 85. He is survived by his loving children Paul (Lorraine) of Winnipeg, Germaine Herie of Thalberg, Della Vincent of Winnipeg, Armand (Marianne) of Powerview, Lea (Don Pochinko) of Escondido, California, and Helene of Winnipeg. He also leaves sister Albertine Charbonneau, brother Oliver and 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Ernest Gervais, mother Rosanna Grandbois, four brothers, and six sisters, son-in-law Joe Herie and grandson Gerald Vincent.

Leo was born November 6, 1914 in Wild Rice, North Dakota. His family then moved to St. Eustach, Man. at an early age. He was married in 1942, in Powerview. He also worked at Abitibi Price Inc. for 34 years. He served as a school trustee in Powerview as well as being an active member of the Knight's of Columbus. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday October 16, at Notre Dame Du Laus Roman Catholic Church, Powerview, Man., at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Fr. Rene Chartier officiating. Friends may pay their respects at the church one half hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in his memory.

DELINA EVA GERVAIS (nee LAVOIE)

Delina Gervais passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Health Sciences Centre, with family at her side, at the age of 89.

She is survived by her loving children Paul (Lorraine) of Winnipeg, Germaine Herie of Thalberg, Della Vincent (Norman Meilleur) of Winnipeg, Armand (Marianne) of Powerview, Lea (Don Pochinko) of Escondido and Helene (Robert Morgan) of Winnipeg. She also leaves her sisters Virginie St. Croix, Jeannette Trudel Hawranik, Denise Bowman and brother Emil (Patricia) Lavoie. She leaves 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and also numerous nieces and nephews. Delina was predeceased by her husband Leopold Gervais in 2000, her parents Robert and Florence Lavoie, brothers Raoul, Albert, Joseph, Raymond,and Henri Lavoie, son-in-law Joseph Herie, and grandson Gerald Vincent.

Delina was born in Lac du Bonnet, MB on December 27, 1920. She was a member of the Powerview Silver Haven Club. After living in Powerview for most of her life, she moved to St. George Chateauguay in August 2008. She will be remembered as a loving, kind person who made sure that everyone else was taken care of before herself.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Notre Dame du Laus Catholic Church, Powerview, MB, with Rev. Fr. James Gray presiding. Prayers will be said a half hour prior to the funeral service.
