| Mary Ellen Hemby and Janice Hartman decided to take a cruise from Miami to the Eastern Caribbean with our power scooters. We needed something to plan for, since our caregivers/husbands had died within the prior two years. The Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas was touted to be accessible, so we joined six other Post Polio Survivors and their spouses on the seven day cruise. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Both Jann and Mary Ellen survived polio as children and grew up with residual paralysis mostly in one leg. Later in life, Post Polio Syndrome forced them to begin using personal power transportation and rearrange lifestyles to accommodate the reduced energy level. | Jann is involved in nutrition and breast feeding support. She lives in Washington State. Mary Ellen has crafting interests - gourds, beading, quilting, etc. and lives in Texas. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
