Chapters 11-15
To tell the truth, I thought that this book was REALLY Boring when I first started reading it. But now it's getting really interesting. As Jonas was first getting memories from the Giver, a lot of questions popped up in my head. How could have Jonas never have experienced snow before? How could he have never seen colors before? And lastly, HOW COME THER IS NO CHOICES IN THIS COMMUNITY?!!! It's like they're in one big bubble or dome, where nothing goes in or out.
Anyway, even if I didn't know what type of book it was and I started reading it, It would be so obvious that it is fictional. How can the Giver give him a memory by just touching his back? It's impossible for Jonas to visualize a memory the exact same way as the person who experienced it. Of course, that's just my opinion. But I think this is one thing that science can't explain!
Another thing is that Jonas's training in our society would take millions of years! And that's just the training! If the memories go on for generations, wouldn't the Giver have to show the entire lives of the past recievers? That would take a REALLY long time!
This book is getting really interesting. I hope that I will soon find out what "released" means, and I wonder what will happen at the end. I bet that nobody could guess it at this point.
