Chapters 1-5

At first, when Jonas explained how he didn't know how he felt, I was a little bit confused. I really wondered why he felt this way. When Lily told about the guestfrom another day care, I was really wondering why she let him do that. If I were her, I would have walked right over to him and told him the rules of that day care. I'm sure that he would have listened and started obeying the rules. Lily had no need to shake her fist at him.
As I continued to read, I began to realize how different life in that community is from ours. They only have birthday celebrations until they're 12 years old! That's crazy!!! I have a birthday party EVERY year! Next, they MUST do volunteer work as soon as they become eight years old until you are twelve! If you ask me, if you're being forced to do it, it's not volunteering. Volunteering doesn't mean just working without being paid. It means doing it out of the goodness of your heart. Another thing, they MUST start training for their jobs (or their assignments) when they turn twelve. TWELVE! I think that's way too young. My brother just turned fifteen, and he is just applying for a job now. Lastly, when it said that people were released, I wondered about what it meant. I know that it doesn't mean to just let go.
In the last chapter, when Jonas shared his dream about wanting to bathe Fiona, I became very confused. Why did his mom call it a stirring? How do the pills prevent him from having stirrings?
There are a lot of words that I have never seen or heard before. As I continue to read, I'm sure thatI will learn a lot of new vocabulayy
