Angel5000
Rating: PG
Spoilers: There may be a few for the JA series but not too very many.
Summary: 15 year old Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon finally get away from the Temple for another mission. They go to a planet to help Reeft and his Master. While theyre there something goes terribly wrong and Obi-Wan and Reeft find themselves taken prisoner by one of Obi-Wan and Qui-Gons worst enemies. An enemy that was thought to have died years before. Now the two Padawans must fight for their live and hope that their Masters will find them in time.

Disclaimer: These characters; Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Reeft, Yoda, Bant, Binn Ibes and the character that I have given the title of The Eldero to(not his real name but if I mention his real name Ill spoil my entire story!), do not belong to me but to George Lucas. The only characters that are mine are the Codi race, Lorenda, Jozu, Cassiono, Dari and anyone else that isnt recognized. I do not mean to break any copyright rules so please dont sue me.

Note: This story doesnt exactly follow the JA series. For one, at the time this was written I had only read up to JA 10 so all events after that didnt happen in this story. For personal reasons Melida/Daan didnt happen (reason such as I hate that incident and book) although many of the other JA events did. It would help you if you read the other stories in the series before reading this one because there are several mentions of events in other stories (Deaths Door and A Birthday Forgotten mainly) and it will help cause less confusion if they are read.

Warning: If thing such as beatings (not by the Jedi but by captors such as kidnappers etc) bother you then read no further. Also I am completely changing a few facts. The family matter is one of them. As far as I know there is no real facts as to who Obi-Wans family is (I know many say Owen is his brother but I dont know this for a fact so Im forgetting it for this story). Since we (I mean I) dont know his family Im sort of giving him onein other words Ive invented a character that is in this story and is going to be a part of his family. No, its NOT a MarySue character. Just a fun idea my sister gave me. There. Now Ive warned you and said much more than I really wanted to L so read and enjoy J.

Obi-Wan smiled as the transport started to land. Finally he was on a mission again! After being stuck at the temple for what seemed like years he was actually getting away for a while and he would be able to see Reeft again. From what information he had received from his Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, they would land on some foreign planet that hardly any had ever heard of, Codani II, and would meet up with Obi-Wan's friend Reeft and his new Master Binn Ibes. He wasn't sure what would happen after that. All he knew was that something wasn't right on this planet and Master Ibes had requested that Qui-Gon be sent to help.

    "Are you ready?"

Obi-Wan jumped a little at the voice behind him. He hadn't been paying attention again and hadn't felt Qui-Gon walk into the room, as he should have. "Yes Master." The boy answered, forcing his heartbeat to return to normal.

Qui-Gon shook his head quietly, it was obvious that Obi-Wan was excited to see Reeft again, but Qui-Gon also knew that the biggest reason Obi-Wan wanted to see Reeft was to show that he had been chosen as Qui-Gon's apprentice. The boy had too much pride in his 'position'.

As the two Jedi walked down the ramp of the transport Qui-Gon glanced over his left shoulder at the boy, "Pride causes nothing but problems my Padawan, remember that."

The boy flushed, How is it Qui-Gon always knows what I'm thinking? "Yes Master. I will remember." He said but the moment he saw Reeft and Master Ibes waiting for them he couldn't contain his excitement any longer, "Reeft! Reeft, over here!" Obi-Wan shouted, hoping the other boy would hear him.

Reeft stood with his Master, Binn Ibes, as he scanned the crowds looking for the legendary Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. "Master, are you sure Master Jinn was coming on this transport? I don't see him yet and the message could have easily been jumbled." The Padawan said wearily. They had been here for nearly an hour waiting for the transport to land and now it appeared the Jedi Master wasn't here.

"He's on this transport Padawan, I can feel him and if you would practice like I say then you too would be able to feel him." Binn gently reprimanded. He knew that Reeft was weary from standing for such a long time but he also knew the boy needed work on his patience.

The young boys face flushed slightly, "I'm sorry Master but I don't know what Master Jinn feels like through the force. I've never felt him before. But I honestly think..." At that moment he heard his name being called and he turned towards the transport again in time to see his friend, Obi-Wan Kenobi heading down the ramp.

"Obi-Wan! Master, its Obi-Wan! What is he doing here? You don't think they sent him here too do you? I mean, he's supposed to be working at the Agri-Corps. Why would he be here unless something bad has happened that we don't know about?"

"Calm yourself Reeft. I don't sense any feelings of emergency or worry. The only thing I can sense is excitement. He is quite eager about something." Binn headed towards the transport, "Come along Reeft, Qui-Gon is with him so we might as well meet them." He said, picking up speed.

Binn and Reeft weaved their way through the crowds, meeting Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan half way.

"Obi-Wan! What are you doing here? I thought you were with Agri-Corps!" Reeft cried out as soon as they were in hearing range.

Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan exchanged amused looks, "I see that word doesn't get around very well." Obi-Wan said with a small smile, "True, I did go to Agri-Corps but Master Jinn accepted me a few days before my thirteenth birthday. I've been his Padawan for two years now Reeft. Doesn't anyone tell you guys anything?" Obi-Wan asked, exasperated. His friends at the temple hadn't known about it either. What was it with Master Yoda and not telling people about what's going on?

"You've got to be kidding me!" Reeft exclaimed. The Drellian couldn't believe that the legendary Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, had actually accepted his friend.

Qui-Gon and Binn watched in amusement as their two Padawan's filled each other in on the events of the past two years. Finally Binn remembered where they were and he turned to the group before him, "We should leave now. The transport will be taking off in a few minutes and we want to be out of the way. Besides, we have much to do before we can retire."

Qui-Gon nodded and motioned for Binn to lead the way. As the two Jedi Masters walked ahead Obi-Wan and Reeft dropped back in order to talk without distracting their Masters.

"You really fought Bruck and won?" Obi-Wan asked in dismay. He hadn't thought that Bruck was that bad of a swordsman. Actually Bruck had come quite close to beating Obi-Wan several times.

"Yeah! Isn't it cool? I never would have thought that he would loose to me, after all I'm a whole year older than he! I do feel a bit bad that he was almost sent to the Agri-Corps and then had to become a Healer." Reeft commented.

"Sad? How could you feel sad about it after everything he did to us? Reeft, that guy was a complete jerk! It would have served him right if they had sent him there!" Obi-Wan said, his voice becoming edged with anger.

"Watch it Obi. You're getting a bit too worked up, I don't know about Master Jinn but I do know that my Master will have me meditating for hours if he thinks I'm getting angry about Bruck. He gets upset whenever I speak cruelly of anyone, especially Bruck. According to him everyone has their flaws and they all deserve a chance, no matter how mean they may be." Reeft said quietly, hoping it would calm his friend.

"I know we shouldn't speak mean about Bruck, especially since he had to become a healer but it's hard not to say anything. Think about all those times he bragged about how he would be a great Jedi Knight and we would be lowly farmers. Do you realize Reeft that the tables have been completely turned on him? True, he isn't a farmer but he's a Healer." Obi-Wan's voice was turning gleeful and it was obvious he was extremely happy about Bruck's situation.

"Well I sure wouldn't want him as my Healer!" Reeft said with a small laugh.

"Easy for you to say. I was stuck at the temple with Healer Bash'ta as my healer but whenever she left Bruck was in charge of me! She couldn't leave me alone for very long before I would start to fade rather quickly and Bruck didn't do much to keep me alive. It was mostly Healer Bash'ta and she nearly killed herself doing it. I am grateful to them for saving me but I honestly can't see Bruck rushing around to save my life. Actually, it's quite suspicious looking that the only time I was really in danger was when Bash'ta was gone. According to the people I talked to, Bruck would often 'disappear' when Bash'ta needed him most."

"Are you saying Bruck tried to keep you from surviving?" Reeft asked in amazement.

"Well if the shoe fits." Obi-Wan let the sentence hang.

Qui-Gon and Binn stopped and turned around, "Do you have any proof that Bruck knowingly and willingly endangered your life?" Qui-Gon asked.

    "Well, not exactly..."

"Not exactly? Obi-Wan this is a serious matter. Unless you have solid evidence you shouldn't be making accusations like that, even if they are spoken in humor. Do I make myself clear?" Qui-Gon's voice was stern and it was obvious that he meant what he said.

"Yes sir." Obi-Wan said quietly. He hadn't expected a reprimand like that. Either Qui-Gon was just being strict on account of Master Ibes and Reeft or he honestly meant it. Whatever the reason he had just dug himself into a hole again. This wasn't good. He had just gotten back on Qui-Gon's good side after the Coruscant incident and now he was getting himself in trouble again.

"That goes for you too Reeft. Unless you have solid evidence against Bruck then I don't want you to be speaking like that. Understood?" Binn asked, his voice just as stern as Qui-Gon's.

"Yes Master, I understand." Reeft said with a small bow.

Nodding their acceptance the two Masters turned and resumed their previous discussion.

"And I thought my Master was strict! Qui-Gon has you on a short leash." Reeft whispered.

"Not really. I think he's just putting on a front because of you and Master Ibes. Usually I can do whatever I want." Obi-Wan bragged. I'm not lying, just stretching the truth a little. I can do whatever I want as long as he doesn't forbid it...

    "You're lying Obi-Wan!" Reeft hissed.

    "Am not!"

"I bet you are! Why don't we just ask Qui-Gon and see what he says?"

Obi-Wan's heart skipped a beat. If Reeft asked Qui-Gon they'd both know he had lied and Obi-Wan would end up in a lot of trouble. Lying was a serious offense. "Go ahead and ask, see if I care!" Obi-Wan bluffed. Please don't ask please don't ask please don't ask!

"Fine, maybe I will." Reeft knew Obi-Wan was lying and he knew that his friend would be in a whole lot of trouble if he asked but he was bringing it upon himself. No idiot lies and then tells you to go ahead and ask! Unless of course he was telling the truth...

Lucky for them both it was at that moment that the group arrived at their destination, a small, worn down looking building. It had to be one of the oldest buildings on the entire planet. "This is where we stop my friends." Binn said, walking up to the door.

"What is this place?" Obi-Wan asked, amazed that the building was still standing.

"It's the Codani II headquarters. There's a lot we've got to do before we can even start working on our initial objective." Reeft said, following his Master towards the door.

"And that would be what?" Obi-Wan asked, thoroughly confused. He didn't know a thing about this mission except that Master Ibes had requested their help.

"You don't know what the mission is about?" Binn asked, turning back towards him and Qui-Gon.

"No Binn, no one even told us what you were doing here or why we were needed. All I know is that you two wanted help and specifically asked for us." Qui-Gon responded.

"What was Yoda thinking? Sending you two out here without any knowledge of your situation! For all you know there could be a war going on right now!" Binn cursed under his breath at Yoda while Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon stared at him dumbfounded.

"Is there a war?" Obi-Wan asked hesitantly. He wasn't quite sure he wanted to be caught in the middle of that.

"No, there isn't a war. The Codi people just want us to help them establish their government. A few months ago the Codi moved from their home to this unoccupied planet, which they have renamed as Codani II. At the time the people were just going to remain here for a few months until the volcanoes quit erupting on their surface. Unfortunately their home planet was destroyed by the vicious ground quakes that accompanied the eruptions and the people decided to remain here. They barely brought enough supplies to last three months and they've already been here two. Now they have asked that the Jedi help them establish a home here. That includes helping them find food, water, find locations for towns and communities, set up their government and become involved in trade routes. Our initial objective is to get the people set up so that if we were called away on an emergency they would be able to support themselves. In order to do that we must go through the files of every Codi citizen, find potential leaders, and organize committees to get things going. Currently we have made it to the 'S' citizens." Binn said, opening the door and stepping inside.

    "The 'S' citizens?" Qui-Gon asked.

"Citizens whose last name begins with 'S'. We are over halfway done but the majority of the people are in 'S' and 'T'. The majority of the Codi population is made up of large families. There are many large, powerful families that make up the group along with many smaller families. Because of this we have to make sure that there are an even amount of members from the large families as well as small families in each of the committees." Binn explained.

"I see. It looks as though we have plenty to do. Where do we start?" Qui-Gon asked.

"Reeft and Obi-Wan can take the list of possible committee members and find these people. It won't be easy; the people are spread out in shelters and small campsites throughout the area. Most people haven't traveled very far from this area, hoping to build their capital here. Eventually more towns will be built but for now everyone is hoping to live in one large town. You and I must sort through the rest of the names and find potential leaders." Binn said, pulling out two holographic file folders.

"What time should we meet back Master?" Reeft asked as he pocketed a datapad listing the peoples names and any identification information.

"Meet back in time for the evening meal, the sun goes down shortly after the meal and I don't want you boys out after dark. This planet isn't completely explored yet and it's quite easy to get lost. If for some reason you can't get back, use the comlink ok?" Binn responded.

    "Yes Master." The boys replied.

As they walked down the street the two Padawans skimmed over the list. "Okay, who's first?" Obi-Wan asked.

"Um...Lorenda. She is around thirty or so years old and has an eight year old son and a twelve year old niece. Since the people live together in clans she will more than likely be living someplace the three of them can get help finding food since there isn't a man to help with hunting. Last time that her ID was scanned was four days ago and she was joining a camp a couple kilometers from here." Reeft said, scrolling through the information.

"What do you mean her ID was scanned?" Obi-Wan questioned.

"It's very important to all these people that they keep crime at a low. To do that they are all given ID disks at birth. Once the child turns four they must carry the disk with them at all times. On their seventh birthday they receive a retinal scan so that it will be easy to discover the persons identity if they loose the ID disk.  In order to enter a town you must have your ID scanned or you aren't allowed in. Same with buying food or clothes or even getting a job. Everything requires an ID scan. If you don't have an ID disk you can't do anything and sometimes they even arrest you until they can find out who you are. Then they'll charge you for the inconvenience. The people don't mind, or at least they don't seem to. You can probably guess that their crime rate is almost nothing and even if a crime is committed it isn't long before they're caught." Reeft explained.

"Guess these people aren't the type who stress privacy. Do you think they'll let us into the camp without an ID disk?" Obi-Wan asked.

"They should. It should be obvious that we are Jedi; the people don't dress anything like us. They aren't even completely human. Their skin is a purplish color and their eyes aren't in their head like ours, they're on antennae type things that stick out of their heads. Kind of gruesome until you get used to it." Reeft stopped and stared at the screen of the datapad unbelievingly.

"What is it?" Obi-Wan asked, peering over his shoulder.

"The information - it just changed! Lorenda is no longer in the same camp. Her ID was just scanned by a Law Enforcer on the road heading towards a camp five kilometers from here. She seems to be heading away from the headquarters." Reeft said, picking up speed.

"What was she stopped for? Was her son and niece with her?" Obi-Wan questioned.

"Um...it doesn't say why she was stopped and I don't know if her niece is with her but her son was. They scanned his ID too. The note at the bottom says that it was just procedure - just to add to the record that he was with her and to update his record...Strange...they've both just been ordered to report to Headquarters at the end of the week for an ID update. The Codi usually are only ordered to have updates once every six weeks." Reeft hurried towards a small building that was marked TRANSPORTATION. "I'm going to see if they'll rent us a speeder or some form of vehicle so that we don't have to walk all day. If we try to walk it'll be dark before we even reach the camp."

"What is an ID update? Doesn't it go into the record automatically whenever they're scanned?" Obi-Wan asked as he followed Reeft. He really wished Yoda had given them information before hand on this mission. He could have read up on it and known all this information already.

"An ID update is where the ID holder must go into headquarters and fill out forms that state name, clan, address, job, family, all that information, that will be put on the ID disk. Every six weeks the Codi are ordered to appear and resubmit new forms and if they get a new job or move to a new town they have one week to submit a new form to the nearest Headquarters before the Law Enforcers are sent out to look for them." Reeft stopped talking as they entered the store. A Codi male stood behind a counter looking rather bored. "Excuse me sir but we were wondering if you could loan us a Land speeder." Reeft said as respectfully as possible.

"ID disk please." Was the man's monotone reply.

"We don't have ID disks, we aren't Codi. I am Reeft and this is my partner Obi-Wan Kenobi, we're the Jedi that are supposed to be helping you."

"Sorry kid. No disk no rental, that's the way it works." The man answered before turning back to the datapad he was looking over.

"How are we supposed to help you if we have no transportation? Do you expect us to walk everywhere?" Reeft said his patience was wearing thin.

"How many times am I going to have to repeat myself? No. Disk. No. Landspeeder. Get the picture?" His answer was terse and he seemed on the verge of exploding.

Reeft turned to Obi-Wan, "Now what?" He asked in a quiet voice.

"We could use a mind trick but I'm not sure how Qui-Gon would respond. He got mad the last time I did that on a street vender." Obi-Wan whispered back.

"This is different. Lets try it." Reeft said. When Obi-Wan nodded they turned back to the Codi. "We would like to rent that Landspeeder over there. You have no objections." Reeft said, waving his hand slightly. Obi-Wan and Reeft both pulled on the force to influence the man's mind but it didn't seem to be working.

"What are you kids trying to do?" The man growled, obviously angry. As the two Padawans watched his face they didn't notice him trigger a button marked Law Enforcer. Minutes later three Codi men rushed into the building. They had blasters in their hands and one held an electro-jabber in his other hand.

"What's the problem Marthani?" The first man, a rather large and intimidating Codi asked.

"These two kids are trying to convince me to give them a Landspeeder. They don't have any ID disks and they're trying to use dumb mind tricks on me. The brats don't seem to realize that mind tricks don't work on most Codi." The man, whose name was apparently Marthani, answered.

"You don't understand, we can't submit ID cards when we don't have them!" Obi-Wan protested.

"Listen kid, it's obvious to us all that you are Jedi but it is against the rules for this man to give you anything without first having an ID disk to scan. Do you realize the trouble he would get in for that? And trying to use mind tricks to change is mind is a serious offense. It goes against all the rules." Another guard said sternly.

"How could you have a rule against it? The Codi aren't force sensitive and Jedi have never visited your planet before!" Reeft exclaimed, both amazed and upset. He knew what would happen next, he had done lots of reading on the Codi and their ways and he knew that both he and Obi-Wan would be in plenty of trouble now.

"It is specifically stated that it is against the rules to attempt to buy or rent anything without an ID disk and any attempt to do so without one, whether by brutal force, bribery, persuasion or any other means, is an offense equal or greater than that of robbery. As of now you are both under arrest for attempted robbery by use of mind tricks, which falls under the category of persuasion. If you attempt to escape you will be shot and then shipped off planet and a call will be sent in to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant." The third guard said, reaching out for Obi-Wan's arm. The boy pulled back angrily but was immediately stunned with a swipe of the guards electro-jabber. "Do not resist again or we will have no choice but to shoot you. It is the law." The man said, grabbing Obi-Wan before he collapsed to the floor. The electro-jabber had caused his legs to buckle and now the two guards had to hold him on either side so that he had enough support to walk. Reeft dutifully took his place behind Obi-Wan and didn't resist when the third guard grabbed his arm.

"Where are you taking us?" Obi-Wan said weakly. He had to focus on walking and not falling so talk was hard.

"To the Law Enforcement office and the prison. There you will be booked, your act recorded and you will be put into a cell until your guardians come to get you, as you are both minors. Don't worry, there shouldnt be any serious consequences this time but that of course will have to be discussed with the chief Law Enforcer and your guardians."

A few minutes later they arrived at the Law Enforcement office and the two boys were placed in a small cell close to the guard station. They were given a glass of water and then the door closed, locking them into a room that was almost completely dark except for a small window at the topmost corner of the wall.

Cant they give us more food than just water? Im so hungry! Reeft exclaimed.

Obi-Wan laughed quietly, Youre always hungry! Im sure well eat after our Masters pick us up.

Thats if they dont decide to starve us for getting arrested. Reeft said with a sparkle in his eye.

Obi-Wans face fell and he became serious again. "Can you imagine the trouble we're going to be in for this?" He asked miserably as Reeft combed the walls for signs of weakness where they could escape.

"I don't know what we did wrong. The man wouldn't give us a Landspeeder! It's obvious we're Jedi and everyone knows we don't have ID disks. If you ask me that man is a complete idiot." Reeft replied.

"I see your point but I also know that Qui-Gon isn't going to be very happy to hear I tried to use the force to convince him to give us a Landspeeder. I know exactly what he'll say too, it'll be something about contacting him before trying to use a mind trick and how I need to be more responsible etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. And he won't be too pleased I resisted either. He's always telling me I need to keep my temper under control." Obi-Wan complained to Reeft.

"I thought you were allowed to do whatever you want." Reeft mocked.

"Yeah well you knew I was lying as well as I did. I'm just glad you didn't say anything to my Master. I would have gotten into serious trouble for that one." Obi-Wan responded with a sigh.

"More trouble then you will for this?" Reeft laughed.

"Oh yes, much more than this. Qui-Gon is very strict about lying. It goes against the Code itself, although so does getting arrested in a way." Obi-Wan said with a smile.

The two sat there for almost an hour before either spoke again. Finally Reeft stood up, "I think I hear someone coming. They're probably coming for us, it's getting close to dark and our Masters really shouldn't have taken more than a few minutes to get here. We are, after all, only a little ways from the headquarters building."

"They probably decided to leave us here so that we would get a taste of prison before letting us out. That way we'd be more cautious next time so as not to have to return." Obi-Wan muttered as he slowly stood.

The door slid open and one of the guards called for them to come out, "Your guardians are waiting for you at the front desk." He said, motioning for them to go on ahead.

Reeft walked beside Obi-Wan, keeping hold of his arm incase he stumbled. By the time they reached the room where their Masters waited for them Obi-Wan was weak again and held onto Reeft for support.

"Obi-Wan?" Qui-Gon asked worriedly, "What happened?"

"He resisted arrest and was stunned with an electro-jabber. It should only take an hour or two before he is completely returned to normal." The Law Enforcer who had arrested them said.

"I see." Qui-Gon said in a voice that Obi-Wan knew well. It was a voice that meant he would hear about this later, "If there is no further need we will take our Padawan's and leave now." He continued.

"You may go but be sure to get ID disks at the headquarters." The guard responded.

"ID disks? Why do we need ID disks?" Reeft asked.

"So that this mistake doesn't happen again." Binn responded sternly.

Reeft flushed slightly and Qui-Gon, in order to ease the tension a little, decided it was best if they left, "Will you be able to walk Obi-Wan?" The Jedi Master asked, still slightly worried. Obi-Wan had dealt with electro-jabbers before, back on Bandomeer, but it still bothered him.

"Yes Master, I think I should be able to make it." Obi-Wan said quietly.

"Then come along." Qui-Gon said before walking outside.

The walk to Codani II headquarters was silent. Qui-Gon and Binn were contemplating how to solve this problem and hoping that it wouldn't affect their mission to badly. Obi-Wan spent the time concentrating on not falling down. He was still weak and walking was hard. Reeft was trying to come up with a reason for getting himself arrested when he should have known the rules. If he had listened more carefully to Yoda and Binn he would have known the rules and wouldn't have gotten him and Obi-Wan arrested. Arrested! What will Yoda say when he hears this?

Finally they reached the headquarters. They entered and Obi-Wan sat down with Reeft while their Masters submitted the forms for the boys' ID disks. "This is humiliating." Reeft mumbled under his breath. Obi-Wan only nodded; he was still trying to catch his breath from the walk. "Do you think they'll actually make us carry it?" Reeft asked.

    "Who?" Obi-Wan asked.

"Our Masters. Do you think they'll actually make us carry those disks?"

"You can bet on it." Qui-Gon's voice interrupted their conversation. Reeft flushed at being overheard.

"But Master-" Obi-Wan began but stopped when Qui-Gon raised his hand.

"We'll talk about this later. Right now we need to get some sleep. Tomorrow we have a long day and you two have much to do in order to catch up for the time lost today."

The group went back outside and headed towards a group of huts in the distance. Since the Codi were limited in space and supplies, only one hut was able to be spared but it was one of the larger huts and would be able to house the four, though they would be a little crowded. It took the group twenty minutes to reach their place of lodging and a few minutes later blankets were passed out to everyone and sleeping area's assigned.

Obi-Wan lay down, exhausted from the walk, and waited. He knew Qui-Gon would say something sometime. His master always did.

Obi-Wan it's time for you to sleep.

The Padawan smiled in the dark. He had expected this, Yes Master, I know I should be sleeping but...

    But what Obi-Wan?

I am not tired Master. That was a lie and he knew it but he didn't want to tell Qui-Gon that he couldn't sleep until he knew how angry his Master was with him.

Why do you lie Obi-Wan? His Master sounded disappointed. Do you think I wouldn't know you were lying? You are my Padawan and you can speak your thoughts.

I'm sorry Master; I can't sleep without knowing how angry you are with me.

Why do you think I would be angry? Qui-Gon asked.

Why wouldn't you be angry? I was arrested for attempted robbery and then resisted the arrest even though you have taught me that peacefulness is more affective then violence.

You may have been arrested for attempted robbery but that doesn't mean you were guilty of it. I know you tried to use mind control and you shouldn't have, just as you shouldn't have resisted arrest but I am not angry with you. Not in the way you are thinking. I may be disappointed but not angry.

So you aren't angry with me? Obi-Wan was surprised. This was a first.

You didn't know the rules and so I am going to forget this incident even happened, although you will carry the ID disk. Mind you, I had better not get a call from the Law Enforcement office again or I will be angry.

Don't worry about that Master, I plan on reading all the information available on this planet first thing in the morning so that I don't break any more rules, whether intentionally or unintentionally. The last thing I want is to spend more time in a Codi prison.

Qui-Gon laughed at that, startling both Binn and Reeft, who were involved in their own private conversation. "Good night Padawan."

    "Good night Master."

As Obi-Wan drifted off to sleep he noticed Qui-Gon reaching out with the force and using it to help speed up the boy's healing. He would need his strength tomorrow, especially if they were to make up for the lost time. Thank you Master.

You're welcome Padawan now sleep. Qui-Gon sent sleep suggestions to the fifteen-year-old boy and soon he was in a deep, healing sleep.
