2 months came and went pretty fast for Brynn. It was now mid-November and she had only seen Benji twice since the day he had left. Between school and going to shows on the weekend with Laura, she barely had time to worry about what Benji was doing on tour. The two did talk on the phone everyday and Joel�s girlfriend, Michelle, would e-mail Brynn pictures of the guys goofing off whenever she got a chance.
Benji pulled his beeping phone out of his pocket and read the screen.
*you have 1 new text message
He pressed the ok button and smiled when he saw the message was from Brynn.
*call me when get 2 hotel 2 nite after show. I have surprise 4 u. luv Brynn.
�Who was that?� Joel asked as he sat next to his brother on one of the couches in the dressing room.
Benji slid his phone back in his pocket. �Brynn, she wants me to call her when I get back to the hotel tonight. She has a surprise for me.�
�Surprise?� Joel questioned with a raised eyebrow.
Benji rolled his eyes. �How am I supposed to know. That�s why they call it a SURPRISE!�
�We are so evil,� Brynn chuckled to herself as she slipped her cell phone back into her purse and walked up to the reservation desk.
�Hello, Welcome to the Westin. How may I help you?� a bald headed man in his mid-40�s behind the counter asked.
�Yes, I was wondering if you could do me a huge favor.� Brynn flashed him her million-dollar smile. Or as Laura called it, her five-dollar smile. �You have two guest staying here, Benji Madden and Chad Gilbert.�
�I�m sorry ma�am, I can not disclose that information.� The clerk informed her.
�No no. I already know that they are staying here. My friend and I,� she pointed to Laura who was standing beside her �are their girlfriends. We just flew in to surprise them and were wondering if it would be possible for you to give us a copy of their room keys.�
The clerk shook his head. �As I said before I can not disclose who is staying here, and I certainly can not give you their room keys.�
Laura patted Brynn on the shoulder. �Let me try�Sir�I know your just trying to do your job, which by the way you are doing fabulously, but we would be more than willing to give you generous compensation for your help.�
Once again the clerk shook his head.
�Forget it,� Laura said turning to Brynn. �Its not worth it. Mr. Clean behind the counter isn�t gonna give us the keys. I�ll just surprise Chad after their sets over. Besides I doubt I could keep myself hidden from him until he gets back to the hotel.�
Brynn frowned. �That�s not gonna work for me.� She turned back to the counter and got the clerks attention once again. �If I can get Mr. Madden to confirm that I am his girlfriend would you be willing to give me a copy of his room key?�
The clerk thought for a moment before answering. �I suppose I could.�
�Good,� Brynn smiled.
�Uh Brynn, there�s only one problem with that. In order for him to confirm that you�re his girlfriend, he would have to know that you are here.� Laura reminded her.
Brynn thought for a moment before rummaging through her purse for her wallet. She pulled her license out and placed it on the marble counter. �That�s proof of who I am.�
The clerk picked up her I.D. and looked at it. �So it is.�
Brynn rolled her eyes. �When Benji�Mr. Madden comes in to check his messages ask him if he knows a Brynn Matthews. When he says yes tell him that I wanted you to remind him to call me. That way, he can confirm me as his girlfriend and he won�t forget to call me.� She said proud that she had thought of a good plan. �After he calls me from his room I�ll come and get the key from the desk.�
The clerk squinted his eyes in contemplation. �I suppose I could do that.�
�Wonderful!� she exclaimed.
Laura and Brynn walked back out to the parking lot and got into the car they had rented.
�Onto the venue!� Laura smiled a devious smile as she pulled out of the lot.
