| Losing Grip 04: The Call Laura knocked on the door to Benji's room before walking in. Benji was sitting on his bed writing in a notebook. "Hey Benj...we're gettin ready to go out to the ba..." she started to say 'bars' but caught herself. Benji didn't go to bars. He didn't go to anything that put imphasis on drinking alcohol. "...the clubs. You comin with?" Benji looked up from the notebook and shook his head. "Ok." Laura started to leave the room but then turned and looked at Benji. She had an 'i-feel-bad-for-you' look on her face. "She's not gonna be there...We're goin up-town to party. Are you sure you don't wanna come?" Benji took a deep breath. "Nah. I'm gonna stay here and finish working on this song. Go and have fun though." "Will do." A few minutes later Benji heard a door shut. He got up and went into the main room of the suite to make sure everyone had left. They had. He returned to his room where he ripped out a sheet of paper from the notebook he had been writing in, neatly folded it and placed it in an envelope. He scribbled something on the front before shoving it into his pocket. Benji walked back into the main room. Laura's purse was sitting on the table in the dinning area. A few months back she had her purse stolen at a night club. Since then she leaves all of her stuff at home except for her I.D. and money, which Chad puts in his wallet for her. Benji carefully looked through her purse for her cell phone. He found it he turned it on and scrolled through the saved numbers. When he saw the number he was looking for he walked over to the phone in the main room of the hotel suite and dialed the number. A feeling of anxiousness and fear rushed over him as he waited for someone to answer. "Brynn Matthews." Benji's heart pounded and he almost forgot how to breathe at the sound of her voice. "Hello?" Brynn questioned into the silence. Benji cleared his throat. "Hey...its Joel. Sorry about that my phone was having problems. Where are you gonna be tonight?" "Actually I'm already where I'm gonna be...a club called The Majority. Its downtown a few blocks from the mall. A friend of mine's band is playing their tonight. Why?" "Laura can't wait to see you so the guys and I thought we'd suprise her by coming to see you later this evening." "Yeah. That'd be great." "Cool. See you then." Benji hung up the phone and took a deep breath. Did he know what he was doing? No...but did he ever. He went and put Laura's phone back in her purse, grabbed his hoodie and headed out the door.
