Plan: Human Obstacle Course (Fitness)
Field- SOS Hermann Gmeiner Primary (Elementary School),
2nd
Grade Physical Education
Objective #1: The objective of the lesson is to introduce new
ideas of fitness related activity to the students in the SOS primary school.
Both the students that are participating in the obstacle course and the
students that are acting as the human obstacles will receive health benefits in
stretching and strengthening various muscle groups.
Objective #2: Students will be expected to participate in
both the human obstacle section of the course as well as participate by moving
through it when it is their turn. The students will orally answer which parts
of their body were used during the various activities.
Rational/ Purpose: The purpose for this lesson is to introduce the
children and the teacher to new and creative ideas for fitness, without the use
of equipment. The present school lacks equipment and is in need of fresh ideas
to keep the students interested and wanting to participate in physical
education.
Equipment Needed: Drum, blanket(s)
