January 25th 2002 ~A Major Bonus ~
August 26th 2001. Five months and one day since I've been out to eat...one on one... with a guy.

Sure, I've been out to eat with guys, or gone to dinner on a double date, but a one on one meal out...and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but up until Friday, we're talking August. Scary, eh?

This all started because The Afternoon Zoo is going to Camelback (thanks to our promotional free lift tickets) on Thursday night so we can discuss our adventures on the slopes on our show on Friday morning. Chris is the only one of the Zoo who has his own skis and he needed to go home and get them. His girlfriend had to be home and couldn't join us, so I went along to keep him company since I haven't seen the guy in over a month.

3 slow cars and an 80's CD later, we got to his house and picked up his skis, a pile of CDs to bring back and a guitar. Chris decided he was hungry, so we went to Ehrhardt's, this restuarant/bar Chris has worked at for years to get "the best wings you've ever had"

They were good. I've only eaten wings once before, and that was at least year's Super Bowl Party with Andy, but these were ten times better, therefore making them "The Best Wings I've Ever Had" . It was Happy Hour when we went, and since everyone working there knew Chris, they didn't bother to card him and since I was with him, they didn't card me either. Woohoo!

That alone was very cool, but the coolest part was just talking and having a nice evening out with one of my close friends. And as a major bonus, it was nice knowing that he wasn't going to try to sleep with me at the end of the night...and I shared this with him, and he laughed. I'm not sure if he was laughing about my statement or about me trying to eat wings (I have 'eating food off the bone' issues) but it didn't matter. I like making people laugh...whether it's with me or at me.

We sang along to Meatloaf and 70's music on the way home and then I napped on his couch and talked to Dave and Naya while he talked on the phone with his girlfriend. Then we watched some of The Best Of Friends and he took me home.

No worries about what to wear, how to act, what to say...just a great evening out with one of my favorite guys.

Thanks, Bab ;-)
