| Every once in a while, I don't mind being wrong. Thursday I was swearing up and down that this weekend was going to be absolutely horrible, much like the weekend before. Labor Day weekend I was ready to kill myself. I had a four day weekend and absolutely nothing to do. I was dying to get back to class on Tuesday. It was pretty painful, and this past weekend was shaping up to be the same way. And then Thursday late night, I'm not really sure what time since my roommate Marc and I tried to figure out how to make Long Island Ice tea and made several batches and had to sample them all and well...you see where this goes. Anyway, Aaron called and said that he wanted to see me this weekend, so I picked up him Friday afternoon from Ithaca around 3 and that began an incredible weekend. It's about a 2.5 hour drive from East Stroudsburg to Ithaca, but thankfully it's a beautiful drive. I'm actually looking forward to the drive in mid October when all the leaves have changed color. Aaron drove on the way back and yes he drove my car. It's actually kind of weird because when we're together, I think of it as our car. Granted I pay for it and whatnot, but we share the driving. Actually he does more of the driving, which is fine by me. This weekend was spent watching Sports Night, Season 3 of the Simpsons, eating massive amounts of junk food (the imfamous Smuckers Jelly Beans, Sour Patch Kids, Oreos, Jelly Belly Jelly Beans etc) going out for wings and doing nothing out of the ordinary. But that was the best part. One of the things I always wanted in a boyfriend was someone who I could have an incredible time doing nothing with. That is one of the things I love about my best friends. We can do absolutely nothing and have the best time. Whether it's going to Walmart (again!) getting 100 gallons of gas or just sitting around talking and watching a bug zapper (hey, we do normal stuff too, I'm just highlighting the random stuff) it's just the fact that we're together that makes it fun and that's what I wanted in a boyfriend. It's exactly like the saying "I'd rather do nothing with you than something with someone else" Aaron and I did nothing together that we wouldn't do by ourselves (except for one important thing that was done many many many times) (and dinner at Brownie's) but it was just an incredible weekend because we could be together. If I sat around all weekend and watched Simpsons and ate junk food, I'd have been miserable and bored. But doing all that with Aaron was the perfect weekend and I justed hated to see it end. I returned him to Ithaca around 4:00 yesterday with homemade leftovers, a huge case of water, a half eaten pack of Oreos, Animal House Double Secret Probation and freshly made Rice Crispy Treats. The hardest part was the fact that I had to drive two and a half hours and be bummed that I was alone in the car. But now it's Monday and it's back to the grind. I started work today. I'm still working for the MCOM department. I enjoy the fact that I get paid to hang out in a place that I would be hanging out in anyway. Today I got to use tools and take apart a shelving unit. I love anything that involves using tools. Anyone from Parkside will vouch for this. So that's about it from Camp Meg. I had an incredible weekend with my wonderful boyfriend and to summarize the experience, I will quote him "It was a real hum dinger of a weekend. I had sex with my girlfriend 10 times AND she made me rice crispy treats!" It's nice to know I'm good for something ;-) |
