Many people come this conclusion for themselves, many people are told, many more still haven't even thought of the question to ask, let alone the answer.

The only hard and fast rule of Joadism, the only real concept behind it is that nothing matters, at all. There is absolutely nothing in the world of any consequence. Nothing can be taken as true or false

Let me explain a bit better. You are currently looking at a computer screen, or perhaps a print out, but are you? How do you know it's not a dog, or a fish tank? How do you know its there at all. This is the simplest point of Joadism, one every annoying 10 year old tries on. The simple answer is you do not know anything about what you comprehend, by thought, taste, sight or imagination. No matter how much you believe something may or may not be there is no proof of it either way.

It could be a hologram, part of a computer game, some one's elaborate imagination, a hallucination, a polymorphic alien creature or a sculpted piece of dung for all we know. We simply do not know. Therefore nothing matters. Not our thoughts, not our morality, not the world, not the universe, not that four eyed frog that isn't sitting on your head at the moment. Nothing can be proved or disproved.

'But wait!' I hear you cry above the din of the chain saw you've got for a third right arm.

as some famous French philosopher once said

So the only thing we do know is that we exist in some way of form then? Wrong! It would be true if could claim to know everything, but we cannot (well we can, but that’s just taking the mic). The problem is, since we can't comprehend everything, we cannot be sure thinking we exist proves we exist, there is always the possibility something we haven't got the mind power to dream up causes us to be- without existing.

In the words of Star Trek

My answer to that would be 'yes, and their also hidden masters of the universe here to destroy our souls' but that’s just because it can't be disproved.

So my point is, there is no need to love, no need to cry, no need to believe in anything. We are exactly what we believe ourselves to be because there is nothing to say we are not. By equal token there is nothing to say we are. The world is yours to play with, or get played by.
