SINGLE BOARD COMPUTER SPECIFICATION (Rev K) MVS 9/25/92

The MVSBC series of Single Board Computers are perfect for applications
where a PC is too large, too expensive, or draws too much power. Uses
include controllers, dataloggers, alarms, handheld computers, robotics,
etc.. The 62 pin PC bus means many inexpensive PC adapter cards can be
connected. Several common I/O ports are already built into the basic card
however. With the on-board network interface multiple SBCs may be linked
to each other or to a Host Computer.

The basic SBC includes the following features:
       - MVDOS disk operating system - BIOS with serial download
       - 62 Pin PC Bus - 8 bit A-to-D converter (RC type)
       - 3 Serial Ports - 2 Parallel Ports
       - Real Time Clock - LCD interface
       - Keyboard Input - LED Display
       - 2kbit Static RAM - 1kbit non-volatile EEPROM
       - Up to 64Kbyte EPROM - Hi speed 1-wire multi-drop network

Small size (3"x4") enables it to fit in the tightest spaces. Very low
power (0.1 watt for the MVSBC2) means battery or even solar operation.

Files are burned into EPROM or downloaded into non-volatile memory and will
be executed automatically on power up. Languages like BASIC, MASM, Turbo
C, and MSDOS can be used since the SBC is a miniature PC type computer.
Free technical support and a code writing service are available from MVS to
assist customers in product development.

Minimum setups would invlolve downloading programs from a PC over a serial
port. A more complete PC based development system consists of an SBC, one
of the memory expansion options, and DEVSYS. The DEVSYS (development
system) option allows software to be downloaded from a PC to SBC RAM over a
parallel port which is much faster than serial. The kit consists of
royalty free BIOS source, PC parallel download card, cable, Borland C
compiler, and a diskette with utilities, demos, and tutorial. Although not
absolutely required the DEVSYS option greatly enhances productivity. These
tools and the built-in PC bus mean that most debugging can be done on a
regular PC which is far more productive than debugging on the target.

The MVDOS disk operating system is a simplified version of DOS that runs
with as little as 136 bytes of RAM and 16Kbytes of ROM. Typical INT 21
functions include file manipulation, time, date, console I/O, etc.. A
simplified command line executive resembles COMMAND.COM. Built-in solid
state disks and removeable media (PCMCIA) are supported by MVDOS.

The "KWIK" series of engineering kits provide an easy way to construct LCD
displays, matrix type keypads, A/D and D/A converters, triac cards, and
many other common I/O devices. Each kit has parts, circuit board,
schematic, demo source code, and easy to follow instructions.

MVS will repair free of charge product suffering from manufacturing defects
for a period of 5 years after shipping. This will be done only if it has
been determined by MVS that the product has not been misused (improper
