MegaManX: Zero Chronicles
Chapter One
Part One
"A friend is more then a friend he is life long companion" -MegamanX, two years after Sigma was finally put to rest, and peace was restored to the world.
Act One
Today MegamanX and Zero are both attending the funeral of their Leader Dr. Cain who died two days ago.
"I thought as if I had lost more then a friend but a part of myself. A part of my very being. And now I felt like a part of my mechanical heart had been ripped out and strewn across the floor."
"X are you going to drink that?" the familiar voice said.
"Zero, How did you know I was here?"
"I have my ways."
"So, how's it going?" I questioned.
"Well to tell you the truth X, I kind of feel alone, ever since Dr. Cain died and all. Now there's no one around that can repair us after battle. Even though it really doesn't matter anymore, you know, since Sigma was destroyed."
"Zero I really don't feel like talking about that right now. I think I'm going to go for a walk, wanna come?"
"No, not really. I got some work to catch up on."
Act Two (Later that night)
I was walking around the cemetery when I heard a low whisper, I couldn't quite make it out though, it was my name. I had turned around to see who was calling me.
"Rock it's really you? I could recognize that jet black hair anywhere!" The stranger said.
"Excuse me, but, who are you? And why do you keep calling me Rock?
"You really don't remember me? It's me Proto."
"Proto?" My head hurt when I heard that name. "I'm sorry but I still don't know who you are."
"Proto, as in Protoman. I am your brother." I felt a sharp pain cover my entire body. The pain was so horrendous that I fell to my knees. As my X-blaster turned on-line.
"Rock!" A voice commanded my attention. "Do not be afraid, it is I, Dr. Cain. This message has been programmed into your memory, when I gave you the ability to taste. If you are hearing this message then I am gone, like I predicted. You and Zero must put a stop to Vile. He is on the planet of Mars leading a revolt against the humans of that planet. Vile is very strong, I am afraid you and Zero cannot stop him alone. To aid you in your battles I have reactivated Protoman and Bass. Because you heard one of there names this message was activated. Your past will soon come back to your memory and this will all become clear. You need to understand that Protoman and Bass are not you enemy but your friends. I did not have time to program this message into Zero so watch him. I am assuming that part of him is still controlled by Wily. 'END OF TRANSMISSION' "
I slowly got back to my feet as a blur took over all of my thoughts. My memory was already being restored.
"Rock, are you okay?"
"The name is X." I hollered in irritation. "I am not quite sure what just happened."
"You should start to remember some stuff now. Do you remember me?"
"Yeah, I think I do! You're my brother right?"
"Yes, very good. Now that you're starting to remember this I would like to introduce you to someone. Bass, come on out here."
Bass slowly walked out and extended his hand.
"Hello." Bass greeted him.
"Um, hi."
"Do you remember me? I was one of your friends."
"Come on X, you remember him don't you?" Protoman questioned.
"Maybe, it's all really fuzzy. I kind of�" But before he could finish he was interrupted by Zero, as he walked out from behind the wall.
"Stop right there Mavericks!" Zero screamed.
"No wait, Zero!" Cried MegamanX Franticly.
"Step aside X! They are followers of Sigma." Zero commanded. "Mavericks, prepare to be terminated!"
Zero quickly drew his saber and slashed at Protoman. H was just able to escape the path of the blade. Protoman prepared to fire but was pulled back by Bass.
"Don't worry Proto, he's mine!"
Bass jumped in the air and shot rapidly at Zero. But the shots bounced right off of Zero's armor plating.
"What!" Bass yelled in irritation.
"Zero, stop!" I yelled franticly as he charged Bass again. "They are our friends! Don't hurt them, please."
"Shut up X! If I want your opinion I'll ask!" Zero yelled. "Your emotions have always made you weak! You're being a fool!"
"Zero, stop!" I screamed. "No! Please!"
"Bass!" Protoman screamed franticly.
But it would not hamper Zero as the saber sliced through Bass's weakened armor.
"Noooooooooo!" Protoman screamed, helpless to stop it.
Suddenly, a strange wave of energy engulfed Protoman. Almost as if he were on fire.
"You will pay Zero. You will pay in full!" Protoman screamed as he flew in the air and rammed Zero at full speed. Zero fell to the ground in agony.
"Enough, Bass will be fine. It only penetrated the armor." I said as I tried to stop Protoman. Out of nowhere Zero jumped up and struck X right on the diamond that was on his forehead.
"Zero, what are you doing?"
"You are my enemy, both of you."
"No, Zero, Wily and Vile are your enemy. Not us." I said in shock that he had hit me.
"You're right!" Zero gasped. "It is Wily, he has control�" Zero head fell, lifeless.
"You all right?" Proto questioned. There was no response. "How 'bout you Bass?"
"Yeah, I'm all right."
