Emma exited the game shop and headed down the street. She is a shy 15 year old girl who goes to the Girls Private School (or GPS, for short) of Gloryville, the city which she lives in. Emma has shoulder-length brown hair that she wears in pig-tails. She also wears glasses over her brown eyes. As she turned the corner, she ran into her two best friends.

"Hey, guys!," Emma shouted with glee. "How goes it?"

"Everything's going great, Em", her friend Alex replied.

This was Emma's best friend Alexenderea, or Alex, for short. They've always been best friends since elementary school and she also goes to the Girls Private School of Gloryville. Alex has long brown hair that she keeps up in a pony-tail which matches the color of her eyes.

"What's that you've got there, Em?" Em's friend Liz inquired.

This is Emma's other best friend, Elizabeth. She's a transfer student from Great Britian who's going to school with Emma and Alex. Her friends just call her "Liz" for short and she has long, blonde hair with blue eyes.

"Oh, this?," Emma replied. "It's a new RPG I bought."

"A new RPG!", Alex shouted jumping up and down. "Wow, which system is it for? I love RPGs! Hey, wait a minute. I didn't know you liked video games, Em. I thought you hated those?"

"I don't hate them, but I don't care for them either. Although I do love RPGs, Alex."

"Idiot!", said Liz as she whacked Alex on the head. "Don't be so rude! She does like RPGs, you know! Maybe if you did something other than play video games, you would know something about your friends!"

"Hey, for your information, I do things other than play video games!", Alex protested.

"Oh, like what?" wondered Liz.

"Well, just now I bought the last volume of Cardcaptor Sakura. It's a great manga and it's my favorite series."

"But Alex," started Em. "Don't you say that about every new manga you read?"

Alex glares at Em and the three of them suddenly burst out laughing.

"Ok, so now I know you like video games, but what's it called and what's it about?," asked Alex.

"It's called "Spirit Masters" and it's based on Greek Mythology."

"Greek Mythology?!," both of Em's friends shouted.

"Yeah, it's apparently a brand-new game because not even the game shop owner knew anything about it."

"I thought you didn't like playing mainstream games, Em?", asked Alex.

"Idiot!", shouted Liz as she whacked Alex on the head again.

"I don't, but there was something different about this game. Something I couldn't quite put my finger on. It was almost if I was drawn to it and of course, a game dealing with Greek mythology must be a ton of fun!"

"Yeah," Liz agreed. "Greek mythology certainly is interesting to read about. It's almost hard to believe that people actually thought those whacked-out stories were true."

"But wouldn't it be cool if it were?," wondered Alex?

"I don't know," responded Liz. "I'd imagined I'd be scared out of my wits if it was. So, why don't we play this game right now?"

"Huh? What do you mean right now?," responded Em.

"Well, you don't have anything else to do, right? Neither do we, so it should be a fun way to kill some time. I can't help it if this town is so mundane. Great Britian always had something fun to do. I miss the Cascades Mall back home."

"Ok, we've got it, Liz, we've got it," said Alex. "Let's head over to Em's house right now!"

The gang arrived over at Emma's house and started heading upstairs. Her parents passed away when she was young, so she and her big brother, Alan, lived with their grandmother. Emma's grandmother offered the three some homemade cookies as a snack, but they had to decline as they didn't want to impose and they wanted to play Emma's new video game as soon as possible. As they were about to enter Emma's room, her big brother stopped them.

"Hey, who're these girls, shorty?", asked Alan.

"Don't call me shorty just because you're taller, Alan! These are my best friends, Alex and Liz."

"I didn't know you had such beautiful ladies as your friends. It's hard to believe you could hang out with such obiviously popular girls. Where did you pick these beauties up at?"

"Beauties?", asked Liz as her eyes got all sparkly. "Hey, Em, you have a pretty intelligent elder brother! You should listen to him every once and a while. He could teach you a thing or two. He's sooo handsome."

"I don't think I'm that integillent. I'm only in my first year of college", responded Alan.

"First year of college?! I'm only in my first year of high school. Our strides are too different. Still, he's too handsome to pass up! Sigh, I'm so depressed."

"Don't worry. I'm sure you'll find the person who's just for you some day. If any of the guys at your school don't ask you out, then they must not have very good taste."

"Alan."

"Elizabeth."

"Please, just call me Liz..."

"Liz..."

"Ok, enough already!" shouted a peeved Alex. "I want to hurry up and play this freaking game already! This isn't a shojo manga, you know!"

"Maybe shorty can find a boyfriend in her little game", joked Alan. "It's the only place she'll find a guy short as her."

"Alan!", shouted an angry Em. One day, I'm going to grow taller and stronger than him and beat him up! Then, that'll prove to him you don't have to be tall to get a boyfriend! "Let's go, Liz, Alex."

"Fine, fine" responded a saddened Liz. "Well, I'll have to talk to you later, Alan. Ta-ta."

The girls went into Em's room and she started hooking up her video game system. She pulled out the game and the trio read over the instruction manual.

"This game sounds really hard", stated a worried Liz. "I'm worried I won't be able to understand it."

"Don't worry, Liz!" reassured Alex. "The best way to learn something new is to just try it! So, let's try it!

"Ok, here we go!" shouted Em. She pressed the start button on her system and the game started playing. All of the sudden, there was a flash coming from the television screen and the three girls found themselves falling down a seemingly bottomless pit of light.

The girls fell through some trees and landed on top of each other in the mud. Picking themselves up and dusting themselves after the fall, they looked around and noticed they were in a dark forest devoid of light.

"Where the heck are we?", asked Liz.

"I don't know", responded Em. "But it doesn't look like we're in my room anymore."

"It doesn't like we're in Kansas anymore either", Alex said jokingly.

"This is no time for wise cracks! We have to find our way out of here", shouted Liz.

"Right, but first of all, what is this place?"

"You girls!", shouted a mysterious voice.

The girls looked around to try and find who called for them. They turned around and saw a strange creature with goat-like legs and horns on his head. They started freaking out because they had never seen a creature like this before.

"Who the heck are you?!", inquired Liz.

"How dare you speak so rudely to me! I am the greastest and most powerful wizard of all time! My name is.....DAN!"

"Dan? What kind of a name is that for a wizard?"

"Ok, so I'm not the greatest wizard of all time, but I am exteremely powerful."

"Um, excuse me?", asked Em meekly. "Do you know where we are?"

"Yes, I suppose I do."

"Well, tell us, darn it!", shouted Liz with anger.

"Ok, ok. Hold your horses. You're in the Forest of Spirits."

"Forest of Spirits? What's that?", wondered Alex.

"How could you not know what the Forest of Spirits is?! You three are from Olympiania, right?"

"No, we're from Eart", Alex started until Em and Liz covered up her mouth.

"What're you doing, you idiot?!" demanded Liz.

"I was just going to tell him where we were from like he asked."

"You just can't do that! We don't know if he's evil or not! And there's no way he would believe us if we told him we were from another world, anyway! He'd freaked and think we were insane! Maybe he'd lock us up in a mental hospital or something and then we'll never get back!"

"So, what should we do, then?" asked Em.

"Let me handle this. Sorry, um, Dan, but we don't go travelling very often. Our home is a very long way away from here."

"Are you girls from another country", asked Dan.

"Um, yes, we're from another country and we're not very familiar with this one as we're new here. You said this beautiful country was called Olympiania, correct?"

"Yes, I did and this is the Forest of Spirits. It's a very dangerous place for three girls to come in unarmed."

"So, how come you're here, then? You don't look like you're armed yourself," asked Alex.

"Actually, I am. You see, I'm a Titanian Hunter and I've come to this forest to capture some spirits"

"Titanian Hunter? What's that?", wondered Em.

"You girls really don't do much travelling, don't cha? I'll fill you in since you don't know anything about this. Many years ago when this country was still youthful, there were powerful monsters named Titanians that roamed the countryside. They were rutheless creatures that would attack just about anything that got in their way no matter who or what it was. So, the Gods and Goddesses of our country called forth the best sorcerors and knights in the land to deal with them. Most of the monsters learned from the error of their ways and became innocent good spirits that reside in different springs hidden throughout this land, while the remaining monsters fled to the dark forests and mountains to hide."

"So, this forest is one of those inhabitied by the Titanians", asked Liz.

"Yes, and that's why it's dangerous to wonder in here unarmed."

"How come you're here, then?"

"Instead of having the knights themselves capture their first Titanian, special sorcerors entitled, "Titanian Hunters" were formed for that purpose and I am such a Titanian Hunter. You see, I've come here today to meet up with my knights."

"Your knights? Why're you meeting up with them?", wondered Em.

"You see, not only are we Titanian Hunters responbible for capturing monsters for people, but we also train the knights in the ways of controlling them. I'm somewhat of a coach and I've come here today to give my knights their first Titanians and train them."

"It's almost hard to believe a little nymph like you can capture a giant, ugly, monster," stated Em with a doubtful tone of voice.

"Actually, I only capture the good Spirits from the springs they reside in because the giant monsters are so powerful. Only the most skillful Titanium Hunters can capture a renegade one on their own. I actually have the Spirits here with me in these orbs I'm carrying."

He took out his hand and showed them three glowing balls with a tiny fairy-like creature inside each of them.

"Not only is it hard to believe you can capture a giant monster, but it's also hard to believe these little guys can cause so much trouble", said Liz.

"Yes, it's true they used to be evil beasts, but now they're good Spirits who love helping people in anyway they can, so they were glad to come with me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must be on my way to meet up with my knights."

"Wait, we need to know how to get out of this forest!", shouted Em.

All of the sudden, one of the giant monsters Dan spoke of appeared out of nowhere and started attacking. It was like a giant, moving plant with pointy vines where it's arms would be. In the center of where the pistil wasn't nectar, but sharp teeth that could rip apart anything it just barely touched.

"Run for it!", the girls screamed in unison.

"What're you doing, Dan?!" Em asked hurrily. "We have to run! That monster is going to kill us!"

"I can't run! I promised that I would wait here for my knights!"

"They're not coming, Dan!", shouted Liz. "If they did, they would've showed up by now!

"No, we can't run!", exclaimed Alex.

"What're you, insane?! We can't possibly fight a beast like that!"

"Yes, we can! It's just like in Magic Knight Rayearth! Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu were summoned to Cephiro to save it! Alcyone showed up when they could barely use any magic, but because they believed in themselves, they were able to defeat that evil witch! We can do it, too!"

"Reality check, Alex! This isn't an anime! This is REAL LIFE! We could get killed!"

"I don't care! I'd rather die than run away! You can be a coward if you want Liz, but I'm going to stay and fight!"

"She's just like Hikaru. We can't get her to change her mind. When we get back to our world, she's going on a strict anime diet!"

"Another world?!" asked a surprised Dan. "Quick, girls! Take these orbs!"

He took the orbs in his hands and started praying to them who then flew to each of the girls' hands.

"Quick, girls!", instructed Dan. "Pray to the spirits! Prayer is the only way you can communicate with them! Ask them to lend you their magic!"

"But aren't these spirits supposed to be for your knights, Dan?" asked Em.

"Just do it!"

"Ok, if you say so." Em closed her eyes and concentrated hard. Please, spirit. I know I'm not worthy of using you and that you should be used by someone who's better than me, but we're in a deseperate situation right now. If I don't do something, my only friends and Dan are going to die! Please, help us!"

Em opened her eyes and looked up to see her friends doing the same. Suddenly the orbs started glowing and a bright light surrounded each of the girls.

"W-what's happening?!", worried Liz.

The light disepersed and revealed the newly-claded girls in their armor. Em was given a short, red skirt, red armor over a red shirt, a chain with a thunderbolt symbol on it, wrapped around her waist, and is wearing thunderbolt-shaped earrings. Alex's outfit became a short, green skirt, green armor over her green shirt, a chain with a symbol in the shape of a rose on it around her waist, and rose-shaped pierced earrings. Liz was suddenly dressed in a short, blue skirt, with blue armor over her blue shirt, a chain with a blue crystal wrapped around her waist, and was given blue earrings.

"What is this? These outfits are so tacky", commented Liz.

"You girls have become Spirit Masters!", explained Dan.

"We have?! What is this? Some sort of lame fanfic?!" wondered Liz.

"Don't be so argumentative! It's not the time for that! Now, pray to the spirits again and ask them to give you weapons!"

"Ok, but if I get a scepter for a weapon, I'm going to sue some shojo mangaka out there!", complained Liz.

The girls prayed to the spirits again. A bright light appeared in front of them, revealing a weapon for each girl. A sword for Emma, daggers for Alex, and a three-pronged spear-like trident for Liz.

"All right, now this is what I'm talking about! Let me at 'em!", shouted Alex. She started throwing her daggers at the monster, but she kept on missing.

"What the heck?!", complained Alex.

"Stand back otaku nut, let me give it a shot!" commaned Liz. She started attacking the monster and sliced off a few of it's vines, but not without being hit away by one of them.

The vines grew back and wrapped themselves around Liz, squeezing her tightly. It threw her up in the air and slammed her against the trees.

"Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh! Help me! Somebody!," shouted a deseperate Liz.

"These girls are supposed to be the chosen ones? I'm having second thoughts about my career...", complained Dan. "Emma, you've been given the power of thunder! Pray to the spirit to give you the spell!"

"W-what? Me?", asked Em. "I can't do it! I don't deserve these powers! I have no clue what to do! I'm a failure to my friends."

"You can do it! Just pray to the spirits!"

"Ok", said a worried Emma. Please spirits. I know I don't deserve your help, but just this once. Give me the ability to save my friends. Give me the ability...to become...a heroine...

Words came to Emma's mouth and she spoke as if she'd known the spell all her life. "THUNDERSWORD OF ZEUS, IGNITE!" A bolt of electricity flew out of the tip of her sword and struck the monster straight in it's stomach. It started burning up in flames as Dan took out an orb and started praying to it.

"Capture the monster, orb!" Dan shouted as the orb flew towards the monster. Light surrounded it and when the light dispersed, the monster had been imprisoned inside the orb. Alex and Liz ran over to Em who had collapsed to the ground.
