Chapter Three
NC-17 for smut and violence
The song is from I’m Okay by Christina Aguilera off of her Stripped album.
The sun was shining and warm against her skin as she lay on the beach. Hoshi looked at her lover as he played volleyball on the beach with a group of his friends. He was like a little kid in his element, the sun streaking his hair in a boyish manner. Contentment pierced her soul as she watched him. She would ship out by the end of the week and she didn’t know how to tell him. She didn’t want to watch his expression as he realized how monstrous she actually was – the things she was capable of, the blood on her hands. That was why she was perfect for the life she had chosen. That perfection had been tainted – tainted with the love she felt for Jonathan.
He was assigned to Starfleet Academy, awaiting the completion of Enterprise. Jon had even asked her to consider a posting on his father’s ship, offering her the communications post. She refused outright, sighting fraternization rules. He smirked at that stating they had crossed that line long ago.
Hoshi was practically living with him now, sleeping over more than not. As they got in from the beach, Jon coaxed her over to the bed undoing her bikini top. “You know I have wanted to do this all day, don’t you?” He said as he kissed her way down her neck.
Hoshi tried to remain calm, letting the sensations of her lover’s hands and mouth caress her. She had gotten too much sun and felt drunk from it. She gasped as Jon’s hands slipped beneath her bikini bottom and found her core. He withdrew his hand and lifted her into his arms. He laid her out on the bed and drew her bikini bottom over her hips, over her knees and finally off her body. She lay there compliant yet aroused.
Jon got off the bed and divested himself of his swim trunks. Then he crawled onto the bed and took one of her feet in his hands, massaging it. She groaned at the tenderness of his caress, closing her eyes and gasping as she felt his mouth suck and lick her toes. He paid his attentions to her feet, loving the sounds she was making, loving the fact that she was writhing out of control with fistfuls of sheet in her hands.
Hoshi pleaded with him to stop the sweet torture. Instead Jon kissed and licked his way up her calf, following his hands. She could see the desire sparkling in his eyes, as he kissed her thighs and then finally his goal, the dark nest of curls guarding her desire. Hoshi threw her head back and arched her back as he devoured her. Jon held onto her hips, non-relenting as he brought her to the height of orgasm after orgasm. Hoshi was an incoherent mess before he kneeled in front of her and plunged into her. He leaned forward, moving his hips slightly marveling in her response. She opened her eyes, which mirrored her thoughts. Jon saw intense happiness marred by an equal amount of sadness. “What demons haunt you, my love?” He whispered and moved inside of her. She closed her eyes and moaned, her answer lost in the passion. Jon shuddered as his orgasm overcame him. He lost all thought except one – he loved her. He whispered this throughout the night.
Dr. Phlox took some scans and assured the captain she was on the road to recovery. Thirst! She felt like she was dying of thirst. Her voice croaked out a request for water. Jon lifted her head slightly and put a glass to her lips. The cool liquid was like an elixir, refreshing her.
“Jon?” Hoshi asked.
“Hush, everything’s going to be okay.” Jon assured stroking her hand.
Hoshi closed her eyes and rested.
“Her internal injuries are healing quite nicely. I removed the explosives. She was lucky regarding her hand. The knife did not go through any bones, just tissue. That will heal nicely. Overall, I suspect a complete recovery given months of physical therapy.” Phlox observed his captain and the tenderness that he showed this woman. Obviously, he knew her and had been intimate with her. “It will be some time before she can engage in intimate activities.” Phlox felt the need to inform him.
Jon didn’t even hear him, as he was just ecstatic that she had opened her eyes.
Once upon a time there was a girl
In her early years she had to learn
How to grow up living in a war that she called home
Never know just where to turn for shelter from the storm
Hurt me to see the pain across my mother's face
Everytime my father's fist would put her in her place
Hearing all the yelling I would cry up in my room
Hoping it would be over soon
Bruises fade father, but the pain remains the same
And I still remember how you kept me so afraid
Strength is my mother for all the love she gave
Every morning that I wake I look back to yesterday
And I'm OK
I often wonder why I carry all this guilt
When it's you that helped me put up all these walls I've built
Shadows stir at night through a crack in the door
The echo of a broken child screaming "please no more"
Daddy, don't you understand the damage you have done
To you it's just a memory, but for me it still lives on
It's not so easy to forget
All the lines you left along her neck
When I was thrown against cold stairs
And every day I'm afraid to come home
In fear of what I might see there
Bruises fade father but the pain remains the same
And I still remember how you kept me so afraid
Strength is my mother for all the love she gave
Every morning that I wake I look back to yesterday
And I'm OK
I'm OK
She was sixteen and he was yelling at her again. Hoshi put the pillow over her head to muffle the sound and started reciting a Vulcan serenity prayer. She learned long ago not to get in the way. She couldn’t fight him just like her mother couldn’t fight him. She took the pillow off her head and didn’t hear anything. She sighed and went downstairs to pick the pieces of her mother up.
What she found stopped her dead in her tracks. Her mother was laying on the kitchen floor unconscious. He had never beaten her into unconsciousness before. “Mama!” Hoshi cried as she ran to her mother. “Mama, please wake up!”
“Get away from her, Hoshi. I’m not done with her yet.” Hoshi’s father stated simply as he sat at the kitchen table.
Hoshi froze.
“I said get away from her!” He yelled and stood up.
Hoshi panicked as he moved toward her. She grabbed the knife her mother had been using to cut vegetables. She had had enough.
Hoshi’s father laughed. “You wouldn’t dare? You are just like her, worthless to the core!” He lunged at her with hatred in his eyes.
There was blood everywhere, pooling underneath her father’s body, dripping off of her hands, and covering her blouse. Her mother had regained consciousness and started screaming. “Murderer! You killed him! Murderer!” Her mother ran out into the street screaming. To this day, she was still in an institution muttering about her murdering daughter.
The authorities had ruled it self-defense, but it didn’t lessen the pain of what she had done. Hoshi buried herself in her studies earning several accolades due to her gift for linguistics. No one could see or feel her pain. She buried that night in the deepest recesses of her soul.
Hoshi had enrolled in Starfleet the next year. She was there a week when Captain Conners approached her about a career in Starfleet Intelligence saying her gift for languages and her ‘ability to do what needed to be done’ made her a perfect candidate. She readily accepted the position seeking the thrill of danger, hoping it would fill the void in her heart.
Admiral Forrest sighed and realized he wasn’t going to be able to snowball Jon anymore. “Lt. Sato was supposed to have been removed from her current posting several months ago, but the data and intelligence she was collecting was too good to pass up. She was placed on Orion Twelve due to her linguistic abilities. She has been able to sample the languages of several species at will and has provided the basic structures for new developments on the UT. When we realized her cover had been blown… Well you know the rest. How is she?”
“We got there just in time. She’s alive,” Jon, said grimly, pain reflecting in his eyes as he remembered the condition of the woman he loved when they had found her.
“Well, hello there Lt. Sato. How are you feeling?” Dr. Phlox inquired, fussing over her.
“Where am I?”
“Sickbay, on Enterprise.” Phlox informed her.
Jonathan! She gasped, trying to control her emotions. It wasn’t a dream. She had to get out of here. She didn’t want to hurt him anymore. She lay back with tears in her eyes thinking of how she left him.
Hoshi stiffened in his arms. “No.” She got up and started to get dressed.
Jon sat there not believing he had been shot down so soon. “Why not!”
“I have to go.” Hoshi made a move to leave and Jon jumped out of bed blocking her path. His anger was evident. He slammed the door as she tried to open it. Hoshi shrank back, panic clawing its way up her spine.
Jon could see the fear in her eyes and backed off. “I’m sorry,” he said in a conciliatory tone as he walked back to the bed. “Won’t you even consider it? I love you and I think you love me.”
Hoshi could hear the hurt in his voice and her heart melted. She walked over to him and kneeled at his feet laying her head on his lap. “I’m sorry.”
“I leave tomorrow for two weeks survival training, promise me that you will think about it while I’m gone.” Jon stroked her hair.
Hoshi stood up and pushed him onto the bed, silent, but with intent on making love again – one last time.
She was gone by the time he got back from Australia.
“Lieutenant, Dr. Phlox tells me you’re well on your way to recovery. I have informed Starfleet Command.” Jon walked up to the bed and resisted the urge to wrap her in his arms.
Hoshi looked up at him taking in his appearance. He had aged well; the light reflecting on his eyes highlighted the green flecks. She gasped as her feelings for him filled her with warmth.
“Are you okay? Shall I call Dr. Phlox?” Jon asked, concern marring his features.
“I’m fine,” she whispered. “I-I…”
Whatever she was going to say was cut off as the ship rocked back and forth. “Bridge to sickbay.” Jon stumbled to the comm unit. “Report!”
“Sir we are under attack,” the disembodied voice filled the air.
