Beauty and the Beast is a musical based on the book by Linda Woolverton and the 1991 Disney film named Beauty and the Beast. The musical consists of music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. Seven new songs were written specifically for the stage musical. The musical is noted as Broadway’s eighth longest running production, running for 5,464 performances since 1994 (the year je was born!) As a popular choice for high school productions all around the world, the International School of Islamabad put the magic of Beauty and the Beast to life in March, 2012.
