1:48 pm I�ve been a bum�in terms of writing, that is�in terms of taking time from work and writing down the things that have been going on, the things I�ve been thinking about�you know, that sort of thing�but, the flip side of all of that is that I�ve actually been really busy at work, and have had little to no time to break�and, really, that�s a good thing�so, that�s what I�ve been doing�I�ve been working�I went to Sedona and the grand canyon two weeks ago with one of our educational programs-parks in focus�it�s a program that takes 12 9-12 year olds on week long trips to state and national parks in order to teach them about the environment through photography�I find the concept fascinating, and the week proved to be a wonderful working experience�I love kids�I just love them�they can be really frustrating and mean and annoying at times, but I really enjoy spending time around them�Sedona itself was incredibly beautiful-I definitely have to go back minus the kids and the boss�
the weekend I got back from the trip was the anniversary of my assault�I was keenly aware all day of my feelings, but it really wasn�t too different from any other day�I took some time to myself to reflect on things-progress, empowerment, the ways in which I could, in a sense, reclaim the day�it was good�like taking in a huge breath, and letting it out again�refreshing, in a way�this past weekend, father�s day, was the anniversary of my college graduation and my grandmother�s death�the feelings I had were different, no longer over-shadowed by the assault or my breakup�it wasn�t a day I needed to �reclaim� in any way� the sadness still lingers a bit on some days, but for the most part it�s gone�
other than that, I�m just hanging out, trying to meet people, get involved, do something to ensure that the next 10 months are not like the last 10 months�I cut off all of my hair (it was supposed to look like sharron stone�s in �if these wall could talk,� but it doesn�t really-it�s just short, really really short and a little bit spikey)�pride is this weekend and I�m really looking forward to it�I�m going to san diego in two weeks to see my roommate/best friend from freshman and sophomore year in college, and then to meet up with claire and bonnie for a day�the next couple of months promise to be crazy busy, and very very hot�hopefully I�ll have lots of visitors and I�ll make myself some cool friends�I�m not worried-everything in it�s own time�
