Oklahoma City University - Given very good reviews on one of the forums, they seem to have a really good program. SU Fach lists - Lists the Fach system and appropriate repertoire Translate-free.com - Free translation software Vocalist.org - A forum for discussion of vocal issues, members are located around the world. SUMMER CAMPS AND PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOLS Interlochen - A great summer program. One of my former professors is on the faculty there so I can help you make a connection here. MySummercamps.com - I know nothing about these camps but some of them sound interesting. If you find one you like I will find out more about it for you. Summercamps.com - Another site that lists various camps. Again ask me if you see something you like. Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp - This camp hires conservatory and university students to help out each summer. My impression has always been that this is a good camp. SCHOOLS I RECOMMEND FOR MUSICAL THEATER CLICK ON ME AND READ THE PAGE OF DO'S AND DON'Ts THAT FOLLOW!!! Baldwin Wallace Conservatory - Excellent Program in Ohio Wright State University - This is where I went for my first two years of college. Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussy Cat Dolls is from here as are scores of other actors I routinely see on stage, TV, and Film. Capital Conservatory - Located in Columbus, OH this school has a good reputation. Ball State Univeristy - Located in a small town in Indiana this school does well at competitions and has a good reputation. However, they often lose to Wright State. CCM - The PREMIERE school for MT. Go here and you are almost guaranteed a job. Julliard - The nation's top conservatory. They don't have a MT program but you can major in straight acting or opera. NYU - Another great program located in NYC. Shennandoah Conservatory - appears to be a good program. Their name appears often in bios of Broadway performers. Carnegie Melon - A great program in Pennsylvania. Puts a lot of emphasis on acting preparing its graduates for the stage and screen as legitimate actors. Hartt School of Music - A program that has been consistently turning out well prepared performers for many years in Theater, Opera, and Musical Theater. SCHOOLS FOR STAGE MANAGEMENT/PRODUCTION LSU - For those of you who want to stay in the area here is the info for LSU. CCM - The place to be for all things theatrical. Indiana University - Their opera productions have better production values than many professional comapnies. Their theater is also supposed to be good. University of Memphis - One of the few programs for music business in the country. Shenandoah Conservatory - Offers a arts management degree for undergrads. Ithaca College - Has a good reputation for its theater program. Offers a Bachelor degree in Theater Management. |
