Just out of curiosity, I did a little checking.

Loki, according to all who have spoken on the matter, is sending from a St.Louis based Internet Service Provider (ISP). Raven Blackbane, on the other hand, is located on the east Coast. St. Louis' local telephone company is Southwestern Bell, located in Dallas, Texas, area code 214. I decided to give them a call.

I asked them if it would be even theoretically possible for one of their customers to have used caller ID to track someone to the town that Raven Blackbane was indicated as being located in. I was informed, by the very charming lady in customer service who I spoke to, that this was not even remotely possible, even with a Land Line.

So, unless the trace was done by Law enforcement or Loki invited the call, Loki made the whole thing up. If the trace was done by the police and phone calls have been as unrelenting from their direction as alleged, going in Elfrey's direction, the question arises: why isn't she, or aren't they, in custody? There would have been more than enough to prosecute for by now, and enough to put RBB away for a long time.

So, we can believe Loki, and be left with an inconcievable chain of events, or disbelieve her, and be left with an unsurprising bit of vindictiveness, after the hostilities that have been already witnessed. Sorry, Loki. I really do want to side with you, but the facts just won't let me. You have stepped over the line. You are trumping up a charge.

Even if you got harassing calls, how do you know that RBB placed them? Don't tell me, that you traced them - that claim has been dealt with. And scrying won't stand up in court.

The only possibilities that remain are that you're either trying to terrorise RBB into leaving by threatening to trump up a charge, or you've really gone around the bend and filed a false report with the authorities. This latter possibility would constitute a criminal act.

Raven Blackbane, if you are reading this and this is what it appears to be, I would urge you to contact the American Civil Liberties Union and consult with them. Also, I've introduced the matter onto alt.censorship, and I think that if you talk things over with them, you'll find some enthusiastic support. There is someone there named Tommy the Terrorist, who, while a little off the wall, is the most aggressive and energetic champion of free expression that you are ever likely to meet. He will be a useful friend to you, if you ask him for assistance in this dispute.

As for this matter of "taking sides" - that sort of thinking has produced riots and lynch mobs. The fact that you're doing this garbage on line doesn't change the fact that you all should know better. No, I don't like what Blackbane wrote about Elfrey's baby, on-line, assuming that this post wasn't a forgery - which at this point, I wouldn't put past some of the people, here. It was sick and unforgivable and outrageously insensitive. But this fact does not give any of you the right to begin engaging in this sort of vigilanteism. It takes you outside the bounds of the law, both criminal and constitutional, and this is not a step to be taken so lightly.

If you want to consider that to be proof that I am "pro-Blackbane", go ahead. In fact, don't stop there. In tin, hit control K and remember that my user id is (ommitted). Write it down and use it. I really don't care. If you can't grasp the notion that there are any principles that go beyond "stick with your side", then we have very little to talk about.
