It has often been commented before, that Usenet is a place where the powerless go to feel empowered. Like the child who shows his meaningless certificate from a mail order karate school to the larger kid who he feels threatened by, the one who attempts to bluff his way into perceived power must resort to absurdities to make the unreal (the power he craves) seem real. Often, the attempt is pathetically transparent. Here, the one who Raven quite coldly (I won't dispute this assessment) told to kill himself, attempts to frighten her, by telling her about how payback is a b**ch, and that the 'law of threefold return' will guarantee that she will suffer if she doesn't apologise. Absurd. Nobody with all faculties intact could reach adulthood, or even very far into adolescence without realising that bad people often do prosper in this life, the only one that we know for sure exists, whatever our beliefs may be. Trying this is like claiming that one has an unseen big friend (the universe, in this case) who will rough up anyone who is mean to one.

WARNING : there is a vulgar graphic in most of the posts linked to from this page, 'courtesy' of Raven Blackbane, who wasn't in a very courteous mood at the time.
