If there is one thing, more than anything else, that has defined Blackbane's presence on alt.religion.wicca, it has been her posting of "scries" - purported visions of the future. Few things she has done on the group have produced more commentary - and the sad thing is, that it is all a waste of time. The scries are part of a joke that has been continued long, long after it has turned stale. Those responding to her, unaware of the context of the posts, have reacted to them as if Raven was serious. As the joke begins, as seen in the post reached through the first link, we see Raven's mood taking on a sickly cast. Yes, the post is mildly funny, in a mean sort of way, the satire of chaos magic is on target, but you get this unpleasant, headachey "I've laid in bed way too late in the day" feeling reading it. She has been ganged up on, is bitter about it, and the bitterness kills the good spirit of the humor. It's funny, and yet not fun at all.
Then, almost as if she was afraid that people wouldn't get the joke, Raven posted an account of another "spell". For the record, servers weren't crashing after she made this post. Still, this one wasn't a good idea on Raven's part. Repairing an act of online vandalism can take a great many man-hours, and a swift and severe response to the suggestion that one is about to commit one, like the rest of the system cutting off anneli.com, would have been understandable.
