Mysteries of Alchemy

Alchemy is a most fascination subject. Some said the fabrication of gold was its main goal some said it was a spiritual path. I say it could be both. It seems obvious, by ready texts, that the ancients' alchemists were dedicated to a form of biochemistry, using very sophisticated methods.
