The
Director of Medical Education, Kerala State conducts Postgraduate
courses in various disciplines. Of the total 240 seats for Degree and
183 seats for Diploma courses, 53 seats for Degree courses and 40 seats
for Diploma courses are set apart for selection under All India quota.
Selection and allotment to those seats are made by the Director General
of Health Services. The Director of Medical Education makes the
selection and allotment for the 187 Degree seats and 143 Diploma seats
(State quota).
Duration of the course
The duration of the course including University Examination is 3 years
in the case of Degree course and 2 years in the case of Diploma course.
There shall be an exemption of one year in the duration of PG Degree
course in respect of candidates who have done PG Diploma course of 2
years and awarded Diploma in the same subject. No other reduction in the
duration of the course shall generally be granted.
