Do you want to know what’s ahead of us for 2007? Firstly take a look at the table set out below.

There are three headings, the middle one shows the period when the transiting planets appear from the Earth to be in retrograde motion. (For the benefit of simplicity the luminaries will be lumped in together with the planets in this article.) The list on the left hand side shows when each of these planets were or will be at what I call the `Previous Point'. This is when the planet was at the same degree to where it returned at the end of the retrograde period ready changed direction again. The right hand column is the 'Final Crossing' and this is when the planet passes over the same degree it reached before changing to retrograde motion weeks or months earlier.

Pluto will be moving between 26 degrees 18 minutes and 28degrees 57 minutes of Sagittarius during the year 2007. Therefore those who have any planets or important angles or points between these degrees are going to be affected by challenges of an extreme nature. As Sagittarius is a mutable sign, this transit will affect those planets in mutable signs in a more intense way.  Any Pluto transits really means that we need to take some action. Where there are more harmonious aspects, such as trines being made to the other fire signs and sextiles being made to two signs away, these present opportunities that are more easily handled while continuing to force changes in a profound way.

These actual dates are as important as the periods between them. What happened on 12th December, 2006 (check on the days either side) is giving each of us an indication of the nature of the Pluto emphasis in our lives right through until 27^h December, 2007. Between this previous point and the time when Pluto changes direction on the 2^nd April,2007, is all `in-put' time. It is the time to set changes in motion, to make constructive and definite inroads into handling whatever is being presented to you or choosing to initiate the changes you see as being necessary.

When the retrograde period is reached there is a most definite change felt as this happens.  Now it is time for a review of what has been happening consciously and unconsciously during this input period. Retrograde periods also dredge up matters from the past that have yet to be handled satisfactorily during earlier times when that planet was in retrograde motion. These may defy solution until the planet changes direction again. All efforts put in during this retrograde period can come to fruition at the end of that period, which in Pluto's case during 2007 is 8^th September.

Whether transiting Pluto is making stressful or harmonious aspects or even any aspects at all, what comes out like the breaking of a dam at the change of direction is exactly what has been put in. Where there are the difficulties of stressful aspects to deal with, this outpouring can be hugely beneficial if the input during the previous period and the retrograde period has been constructive and involved a ‘letting go’. In the case of harmonious aspects being made by transiting Pluto there is a promise of wonderful opportunities and changes. These will only come about where someone has made the most of the chances and opportunities during the times starting right back at the Previous Point.

The first chance comes with the previous or input phase, followed by the second chance during the retrograde period. With the outpouring all the plans come to fruition and we know for certain how well founded these activities in our lives have been. This information comes to us in no uncertain terms. It’s great to be given at least three goes at the board within the year?

To look for the culmination of what has been worked on since that time in December, 2006, look to the Final Crossing point, which for Pluto this year is 27^th December, 2007. This is tidy up time.

So far we have looked only at the transits of Pluto for the year. These same principles need to be applied to each of the planets in the table. The quickest and most obvious one to observe is Mercury.

What is yet to be completed especially during the actual retrograde phase, comes up again for review or completion during the next Mercury cycle, or if not that cycle, the fourth cycle later, counting the one just mentioned as cycle #1. Again the actual dates of any of the changes as well as the Previous Point and Final Crossing are important here.   Somehow there is an extra energy surge then

Check with a more detailed Ephemeris to find the exact dates when an aspect is made between a transiting planet and a natal position. This will show that the event has happened in the context of the cycle which has been stirring around and activating certain actions.

Once the correlation is noted between the neighbouring Mercury cycles it is worth the research time to look at similar tables for previous years, as well as those for the future. That way it can be seen that the previous point for the cycle of any given planet relates to what happens at the previous point in subsequent years until the matter has been resolved. This is evident regardless of whether there are any aspects made by the transiting planet to natal positions.

The value of this system is to be able to check at a glance what is happening within a person's life for the period ahead and to be able to help us use these tides constructively. Sometimes we need to be help to see that light at the end of the tunnel and be shown how close it is to that light in order to stick with the efforts we have been making.

Keep a watch on these tides. A constructive approach helps us to hear the messages loud and clear whether we need to move with the tides as we have been doing or change tack completely.
