WHAT ABOUT IT? So you think
you've met the love of your life and the chemistry is simmering between
you? It would seem to be the most
natural thing for the two of you to fall into each others arms and make love. But wait! Please hold it there for a
moment. Have you checked out the timing? If you think we're talking about
timing in terms of fertility and whether you want a pregnancy to result from
this, that may be only part of what is hinted at here..
Let's go back a
little way in history. The ancient astrologers said, 'A man should never make
love to the woman he loves for the first time when Mars is in retrograde
motion as the outcome will be disastrous for one or both of them.' Yes, I can hear you shriek and you’re
wondering what on earth I am talking about.
It really is in the 'heavens', for some relationships really are made
in the 'heavens' and others... well, those are the sort we'd all rather avoid
if possible. Recent intensive
research has unearthed a few more choice bits for the unwary. It seems that when two people 'make love',
that quaint expression for sexual intercourse, for the first time, they are
actually making a sort of contract, though not one which is legally
binding. When this contract is made at
certain times, then the outcome of that contract, which in this case is a new
relationship, is anything but what we would wish upon ourselves and our worst
enemies. Mars happens to
be in retrograde motion for 10 to 12 weeks every 26 months. This makes
it quite easy to do some mental gymnastics and check back with a special
timetable, called an ephemeris, which
tells where a planet was in the night sky on a given date and whether it
appeared to be doing this thing called retrogradation.
In the course of
this research it showed that this phenomenon of 'disaster' resulting from
having fallen into bed together at the wrong time showed also when the other
two 'personal planets' were doing this thing called retrogradation. (From the Earth it looks as if the planet
is going backwards along the road it has just recently travelled.) These other two are Venus, the 'ruler' of
our love life, and Mercury, the one responsible for our ability or otherwise
to communicate. Venus also does
this trick once every 19 months for 5 to 7 weeks, but Mercury chooses this
dance more regularly for 21 days every 3 and 1/2 months. So, what is meant
by a disastrous outcome ? For this we need to look a little deeper at
some specific cases. (At this point I
should like to thank all those stalwarts who bore with me as I brazenly asked,
'And when did you first have sexual intercourse?') These are just a few examples, the pattern
of which turned up repeatedly with slight variations on a theme. A couple who are
now grandparents married during one of these periods after a long engagement,
having stayed only for each other for the
wedding night. They are still together after 30
years but that time has included stints in a psychiatric hospital for
one and children being separated from parents during this time, wife
swapping, extra-marital affairs resulting in abortions and children
being sexually abused by friends of the family. A much younger
relationship was started and the knot was tied during one of these period. No choice but to have an abortion was
given to the woman by her husband within months
because of what seemed to be financial reasons. To date the marriage
has yet to achieve any common base of sharing. Another couple have now been married for well over 30 years and have had
very separate rooms now for many years.
Marriage and first time of sexual intercourse was during one of these
times. There is no common ground, nor has there ever really been any
real sharing with each paying their exact 50% .They say that they stay
together for financial reasons though they are rarely civil to each
other. Their children avoid visiting. There are the
relationships that land up with one parent on their own without any support
from the other or in abortions or painful adoptions resulting from the
subsequent pregnancies. Sadly, many
relationships that turned into a violent backlash also got their start under
such auspices. Sometimes there are
separations within a short time which are beyond the two people's control,
such as through death, accidents or wars.
A really sad one during 1998 happened when a couple decided to marry
during Mercury's retrograde period. It
was a second marriage for both and they had thought about it carefully. They set up a joint house together,
complete with mortgage and wills considering their children. Within a week he was dead in a diving
accident. Then the joint property
needed to be sorted out with his children, leaving her financially worse off
than she had been prior to the marriage. It seems that the
way each of thinks and feels during these periods can do a complete reversal
later on. Circumstances change from
the way we anticipated them to be. Oh, that we could all be sensible enough
to see the warning signs and jump ship and walk away. So, you've
learned a bit about what has happened in the past, but can you apply this to
the future? You most certainly
can. I give out these dates now that I
know their influence and then it is anyone else's business whether they use
this information. Many who have held back
have been relieved when they have found out what they would have missed. 'I won't be taken
for granted,' said one lady. 'He wanted me to fit in with his wife as if he
was still married.' 'He asked me to
marry him last week and now he can't take me out on Saturday because he's
taking out someone else.' Laughter at
the narrow escapes has kept many people sane.. So, what does this year hold for prospective lovers, and those who are
thinking of getting back together?
Have a look at the dates and
note them on your calendar now. I suggest you go
to your calendar right now with that highlighter pen of yours and mark these
periods. If someone asks you what they
are for, just tell them that you are doing some research. Please email me if you come across something of interest. Home Email About Alison Condensed
