Calgary Youth Science Fair 2001

The Calgary Youth Science Fair (CYSF) is looking for judges. Last year we had 358 projects to judge from 525 elementary students in the Calgary region. This year our Fair will be held on Friday April 6th, 2001. The CYSF is one of Canada's largest science fairs and includes students from both private and public schools of all denominations in the Calgary area.

Judging will take place from 7:15 a.m. to about 12:00 noon on the morning of Friday April 6, 2000 at the Big Four Building at Stampede Park.

A Science background is not necessary and a judging seminar is provided on March 21, 2001.

If you can judge with us on that morning please fill out the form.

We have organized two other meetings to which you are invited:

1. JUDGING SEMINAR: helps judges become more familiar with the organization of the fair, the scientific method, judging procedures and communicating with our young scientists. After an introduction there will be a practice judging session followed by a question period.

It will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2000 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Western Canada High School, 641 17 Avenue S.W.

2. WINE & CHEESE PREVIEW NIGHT: provides an opportunity for judges to socialize with other judges and to preview all the science projects prepared by the students.

The Preview Night is on Wednesday, April 4, 2000 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Big Four Building, in Stampede Park.

If you know of other people who would be interested in judging at the Science Fair perhaps a colleague or a friend please pass on a copy of this letter to them, or direct them to our web site where the information and registration form are posted.

If you would like to be on the same judging team as a friend please write their name on the form.
