Being and courage means a lot to me. It is the ability to be one's self. It is to be able to stand up for what you believe in. Courage is firefighters, policemen and the people on the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. Courage is to not follow someone else, it is to create your own. It is also the ability to know one's self and your needs and to follow through with them. Courage is to risk ones life and job for someone. Courage is to love someone and show those they love.
Being is defined as "Existence, one that exists, One's essential nature." (The American Heritage Dictionary) Courage is defined as "The quality of mind that enables one to face danger with confidence, resolution, and firm control of oneself, bravery." (The American Heritage Dictionary)
Being and courage is the ability and strength to be you. It is to be able to do what is best for you and your friends and family. It allows you to dress as you wish or to fix your hair as you wish. With courage you are able to express yourself. You can tell your point of view on things, and not worry about what people think, without being rude or mean. A bully is never courageous. Being and courage is being true to you. If you can't be true to yourself who can you be true to? If you aren't comfortable doing something it is the courage to say, I'm not comfortable doing this. Having being and courage allows us to know ourselves, our limits and comfort level.
Courage is the ability to stand up for what you believe. It is to hold up for your friends, family, or even a stranger. It is to be able to speak in public or to say to people this is wrong, let's make it right. It is the ability not to stop until someone listens. If you believe in a charity it is the ability to collect funds and help out. Being and courage lets you say I'm wrong when you are wrong, if you are right, it helps you find the words as to why you feel so strongly about something. Being and courage allows you to speak out in a way that is strong, convincing and not something that will draw away from your belief.
Being and courage allows firefighters, policemen and others to risk their lives to protect us. Those people walk into danger everyday to save our lives. They are the ones that died in the World Trade Center. Being and courage are the men and women that gave their life to protect the planned destination of the flight that crashed into Pennsylvania. They were not trained for giving their lives, but they fought anyway. They all figured they would not live, but they could save someone else.
Being and courage is my neighbor, who was born with one arm, yet, is one of the top jugglers in the world. He knew he had a limitation and he decided to push his limits to see how far he could go. It is those born without arms or legs, or those facing a disease. Being and courage are those that die and sign the back of their driver's license to be an organ donor or those that try out experimental drugs to help others.
Being and courage is to not follow the crowd. It is for you to create your own ideas and express them. It is to try something new, whether that is ice cream or skydiving. A person needs to create their own identity and not become someone else's clone. A person should find out their own needs and find a way for those needs to be met. Being and courage is to follow your dreams and not live someone else's.
Being and courage is to love, to show that love. It allows you to see the whole person and not just the outside. Being and courage allows you to put someone else's needs before your own and to be there for them. If it is something they really need to risk your life and your job for the person you love. It is to also forgive and to trust. Being and courage also shows you and tells you that someone can forgive you, but you need to change and not make the same mistake over and over. Sooner or later someone won't forgive.
