Tempus fugit (Time flies)

When I recall my teenage years,

it is not often with tears,

but normally with a mischievous grin,

and a wink at the child still within,

I enjoyed myself in many ways,

got swept up in the occasional craze,

partied a bit, drunk a lot,

never made it to Royal Ascot,

I preferred a different kind of riding,

I liked multiplication not dividing,

but those times seem so far away,

when they used to be only yesterday,

luckily the pool of memory never dries,

even though as they say, time flies.
