In Absentia
(In their absence)
The only constant in life is death,
we will all draw a final breathe,
we will all lose friends and family,
there is no escape, it is our destiny,
funerals are a part of life,
the loss cutting like a knife,
but we have to live in their absence,
some keep it in, a code of silence,
but silence doesn't fill the hole,
with no partner to dance around the pole.
