For eight years the Medhani-Alem Tewahedo Orthodox Eritrean Church of Los Angeles has been providing its services to Eritreans in Los Angeles. For the first four years, the church was located at the Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church. After the Egyptian church was unfortunately burned down, our church moved out and it is now located in a small rented church building in Inglewood, and space has become extremely tight that it can only accommodate about half of those who come to church on Sundays. The number of children attending the Sunday Bible School has also increased through the years, making it very difficult to provide many of the religious, educational, and cultural service we wish to provide our children. It has become absolutely necessary to look into other options.

To alleviate these problems and to provide church services to the community, members of the Medhani-Alem Tewahedo Orthodox Eritrean Church of Los Angeles have decided to buy land and buildings for the purposes of constructing a church. To accomplish this Holy objective, Eritreans and their friends living in Los Angeles and its surrounding areas, are raising funds to build the church in the City of Los Angeles. To coordinate and guide this effort they have established two committees - a Fund Raising Committee and Technical Committee.
