Materials:

Purple candle
Yule anointing oil
white candle inscribed with God symbol
cauldron
chime or bell

Setup:

A purple cloth is draped over the altar and the Circle is decorated with seasonal foliage such as
holly, mistletoe, and evergreens.

Ritual:

Cast your circle as you would normally.

After casting, ring chime/bell three times.

Say:

"I honor this turning point of the Wheel.
Today is the shortest day of the year and
Each day following will bring greater power to Him,
The Majestic Solar God.
For within the Great Mother's womb lies the Divine Child:
The bringer of hope and promise for the year in growth."

Place God candle within the cauldron and light it. Pause a moment to watch the flame grow and
feel its warmth. Remove the candle and raise it high, saying:

"He is the newborn.
Only by the spark of Her great beauty
Is His life renewed."

Placed the God candle next to the Cauldron.

Say:

"The Child is cradled in Her arms.
His light and warmth will grow, fueled by Her love.
His growth will return life to the land.

Once again the Mighty Sun God will ascend
And sit upon His great throne above the horizon.

And as the year wanes,
as must all life,
So, too, will He to complete the circle
And be reborn again.

Yule has come to the Earth.
The flame is renewed."

Close the circle as you would normally.
