Spells are a way of moving energy. Of course it's not that simple. Spells are ways of communicating with a deity(ies). In simplistic terms, they are prayers. They are simplistic, complicated, black, white and all encompasing.

Spells are like reciepies, exchanging hands-constantly changing. The magick comes when you insert your energy into the recipe. In spellcasting, it is important to remember that it isn't the tools, the herbs or the words chanted that are the most important, it is you and your intentions. You are the mover, the shaker the requester of motive. You are the main ingridient. Now, you might be saying 'isn't the goddess or god the main part'? Yes, and who are the goddess and god??? That's right, you guess it, you are. They are inside of you and inside of everything around you.

Back to the spells (i get off track a lot) Spells are manifestations of a purpose, need or goal. Spells can consist of chants, herbs, tools, meditation etc. They can also consist of you and the earth. A simple meditation before bed, a quiet relection on a scenic drive. They are chants uttered at times of need. Or a huge ritual with your broom, friends, cakes and ale and the whole nine yards. Choose which you think is appropriate for the occasion.

Choose and pick spells wisely! I know there are a million sites out there with twice as many bos's spells and all kinds of chants etc. Stop and think before you preform any spell. Ask yourself a few questions:

Don't assume that these people know more than you (or less) Just use common sense before you choose any spell (even the ones off my site) There are always arguements over 'old' spells and writing your own. I believe in a combination of both methods. I take bits and pieces of peoples spells and make them my own. Just a suggestion. But don't preform any spell until you've disected it and agree with all the components. please.

With all that blabbed on and said. Be careful out there. There are a lot of people who have no clue what they're doing. Make sure you're not one of them. And remember, sometimes people are just on different paths. It doesn't make them less of a Witch, or more of one. So becareful, bewitched.
