Samhain Spells

On this night of Samhain I mark your passing,
O Sun King, through the sunset into the Land of the Young.
I mark also the passing of all who have gone before, and all who will go after.
O Gracious Goddess, Eternal Mother, You who gives birth to the fallen,
teach me to know that in the time of the greatest darkness there is
the greatest light.

Scrying
This is one of the best times for scrying. You can use a black mirror or a black or very dark bowl filled with water, if you have a cauldron that would be better. Place lit candles nearby and gaze into the mirror or the bowl.

A Spell For The Dead: a time for remembrance
( what we call death is but an existence in the cycle of birth and rebirth)

You will need:A black candle,pentagram,salt( represents the salt of the earth),bread ( bread of life)
cast your circle.

Goddess, I ask for your blessings,

"Lift the veil for me that I may greet my ancestors,
Friends and Family who have gone ahead into your realms.
Let only those who wish me well enter within this circle."

Touch the plate of bread and salt
"Welcome to all ancestors who wish me well."

Take a piece of the bread dipped into the salt and eat it

Light the black candle and think of those who have died.
"This is the time of remembrance of all those gone into the realm of the Dark
The thin veil has been lifted.
My ancestors have come to this feast of the Dead,
I thank them for their presence and words of comfort."

"Let there be no fear in me
Here is the secret symbol of life in death and death in life"

When you feel you have finished thinking of the dead or the special ones you have in mind then cut the circle and bless the goddess. Any bread left over should be placed outside or buried.

The Apple Peel Spell
Carefully peel an apple, making sure that the peel remains in one long thin strip. Throw it over your left shoulder, and if it lands in one piece it will reveal the initial of your true love.

The Oak Apple Spell

To see how faithfull your lover is, place two oak apples in a bowl of water. If they float together, rest assured that your loved one is faithful. If they float apart, its time you looked for another.

A Spell to Divine Your Future from a Cup of Tea

First choose some herbs that correspond to your question. For example, if your question is about love, use lemon, rose hips, orange, and/or nutmeg steeped in hot water. Let the ground herbs remain loose in your cup. Concentrate on your question while drinking, until the cup is nearly empty except for the leaves and a minute bit of water.

Next place your strong hand over the top of the cup. Swirl the remaining liquid three times clockwise. Turn the cup onto a saucer and lightly tap on the bottom five times. With each tap, repeat an incantation like "One for vision, two for insight, three for wisdom, four for discernment, come five the spell is free, magic, magic - work for me!"

Now turn the cup back over. See if any patterns emerge in the remaining herbs stuck to the cup. Interpret the patterns according to your question. If you were asking how soon you would find a life mate, for example, and a heart shape appears near the rim of your cup (close to you), this portends someone appearing soon. Images farther away, near the bottom of the cup, indicate longer waiting periods.

You may want to place a few paper towels beneath your saucer before performing this procedure to gather up any dribbles
