| On national television, Ikki and Metabee are announced as the third-ranked Medabot team in the nation, but the fame they achieve goes directly to their heads! To show off in front of the press, Metabee and Peppercat Robattle each other. Metabee thinks he can easily defeat Peppercat by using the Medaforce, but is badly mistaken. Dr. Aki explains that no-one knows how to extract the power of the Medaforce from a Rare Medal. Ranking number one and two are Space Medabotter X and the team Koji and Sumilidon, respectively. Before the World Robattle Tournament begins, all the lower ranking Medafighters will challenge Ikki and Metabee to Robattles in order to raise their ranking, and knock Ikki and Metabee out of the top three. Among the challengers is Mr. Dragon and his Dragon-Type Medabot Spitfire, a Medafighter team that is ranked 18th in the nation. With some of Metabee's parts under repair, Metabee finds his mobility lacking, so he dives into the water and pretends to be running away. Guess again! From the water, he launches his missiles and knocks down Spitfire. Ikki discovers that Spitfire has regeneration abilities and can't be destroyed with bullets. Grabbing him so that he can't move, Metabee punches the crystal in Spitfire's head and wins the Robattle.Ikki and Metabee find out that the only way a Medafighter can gain points is if he wins a Robattle against a Medabot he has never battled before. From this day forward, all challenges will come from very worthy opponents from all over the nation. |
